I cant believe the reaction either its just plain ridiculous, I can only think the forum members who go over the top with topics like this are the 13 to 16 year olds , surely the rest of us have a better grasp on reality.
It is hysteria on high and makes me a tad embarrassed to be on here to be true.

The fact that his angry rant was televised instead of overheard doesn't make it more acceptable, it only restricts the avenues by which it can be handled. The real problem here is that BB did nothing about it to begin with - and a wink and a nudge lecture is not dealing with it. If they had, others wouldn't feel this need to try to intervene, however futile their attempts might be.

Perfectly said, in face the police would probably have been called, or the bouncers would have chucked him out. Damm, where's Chris when we need him?

Look on Twitter.

Loads are like 'HAHA, Conor is a ledge, Deana is a *******, she deserves it' etc etc. :bored:

I advised the people shouting "Poor Deana"last night to go to a dogs home and adopt a puppy, the biggest over-reaction since Jade Goody got slaughtered for saying "poppadom"

fruit_cake 26-06-2012 02:52 PM

I actually quite pleased that such a fuss is being made. It reminds me that there are decent people out there.

Jords 26-06-2012 02:52 PM

If Deana has brothers Conor is seriously gonna have to watch his back.

jyunga 26-06-2012 02:52 PM

Thank god, I agree with Patrick 100%. People have blown this way out of proportion. Conor is definitely a twat for what he said but it did sound like pure banter. Sure he said he was angry, cause he was and he hates Deana, but he was also just talking **** behind her back with them. People are acting like he'd go beat and rape her outside the house.

kistar 26-06-2012 02:53 PM

Had he confronted Deana and told her the same I would be with everyone else , but he was joking around with a group of like minded friends who dont like Deana and think she is a bit pathetic which she is.

Jords 26-06-2012 02:53 PM

I hate how people use the word "banter" to allow for disgusting behaviour. Its become 1 of the most annoying words.

Bluerang1 26-06-2012 02:54 PM

Yeah, me too. It's pretty worrying that some people think it was funny or that Deanna actually deserved it.

:joker: your right it is embarrassing but thats what C5 aimed for the Jeremy Kyle watching Towie types and by the look of some of the over reactions on here thats what they got.

To me, "Banter" is two friends taking the piss out of eachother, not this.

I record Big Brother - so I watch it a few hours after everyone else, so when I was on here last night from what I heard Conor made horrible remarks about Deana.
The way you lot made it out, was that he was a vicious bully who shouted these things at her etc etc So I agreed and went with it.

This morning? Well I watched the show - and I have to say, the majority of you are no ******ing better than the silly idiots who complain to the BBC over someone's line on EastEnders.
It's silly little people like you that bring the show down, and ruined it on Channel 4 - DO NOT do the same to Channel 5 I swear to God.

Josy made a comment on here, something similar to this - and I complete disagreed with her last night. But now? After seeing the episode? I agree completely.

Conor said it, in the most jokingly way possible - he could not of made it more comical if he tried. Everyone at the table KNEW he was kidding too, the voice he said it in was pure banter.

And it wasn't even said to Deana's face - even when he said he would 'Punch her' he maintained a humorous voice.
The language of course could be deemed threatening or abusive, in another context I agree - but then Big Brother called him to the Diary Room and reminded him of the rules.

Why the ****** are you lot acting, like the guy wasn't even called into the Diary Room?!

I wouldn't like to think for a second, the only reason this fuss has been kicked up is because the majority of people on this forum, haven't liked Conor from Day 1.
Yeah, you're all being ridiculously over the top - I don't condone violence towards women, clearly Conor doesn't either and that's why when he left the Diary Room he genuinely did seem sorry for what he had said previously.

And if you complained to Channel 5, you're a complete moron. I'm sorry, I don't care who you are - you're a moron.

The way it was actually said, the fact it wasn't to her face, the fact Big Brother DID step in, and of course the fact Conor had realized what he had done - shows that the situation isn't as bad as it's being made out.

We have had FAR bigger situations on Big Brother over the years, that have gone un-noticed.

Patrick, you are a douche for saying those things..... Would you like it if an asshole talked like that to your mom, sister or a female you love dearly? NOT FUNNY!!!

flamingGalah! 26-06-2012 02:56 PM

I think the main reason people are so annoyed is the fact that Big Brother simply gave Conor a "slap on the wrist"... Others in the past have received punishment for doing nothing as bad as him. I can understand why people are angry too, what he said was DISGUSTING & in no way shape or form was it funny... He should have received either some form of punishment or been removed from the house & I don't think that is an overreaction at all...

Anyone who thinks people are overreacting either needs to grow up or take a long hard look at themselves... :nono:

I am guessing they are Deana fans trying to save her this week with the sympathy/pathetic vote

Agreed. It's one of those that words people use because they've heard a friend say it, without actually knowing what it really means.

banter

Pronunciation: /ˈbantə/
noun
[mass noun]

the playful and friendly exchange of teasing remarks

There was nothing playful, friendly or teasing about Conor's remarks (or most of the other things people call banter).
