Celebrity Big Brother averaged 1.71m (8.9%).

Highlights of night one at the Elstree compound peaked at 2.02m (12%) at 22:40.

From Digital Spy. Not great, but it was up against Peter Kay which got 4.34 million.

daniel-lewis-1985 17-08-2012 09:25 AM

Thats bad.

jackc1806 17-08-2012 09:28 AM

it will get 2 million + tonight; some people see no point in watching it anyway because it was rehashed from last night and it peaked when the launch night bit was over.

MTVN 17-08-2012 09:30 AM

Terrible

Jake. 17-08-2012 09:30 AM

As posted above, it peaked just over 2 million when the lauch night stuff had finished. I reckon 1.9 tonight.

Jake. 17-08-2012 09:32 AM

BBBOTS got a high 772k (7.7%)

No more ****ing excuses for ratings from now on.

Just see it as it is. If people are fans then they will watch.

Peter Kay should be no excuse for BB getting poor ratings its not as if that got 8 million viewers, It got 4.3 million.

The fact BB is now rating low is because people cannot be arsed and do not want to watch it. Channel 5 have run it into the ground.

5 series in 12 months is outrageous.

Its a trend that the 3rd show is allways lower then Launch and the 2nd episode so tonight im expecting about 1.5.

I know we all want BB to be a success so all the BB haters will cry and moan about this "trash still being on tv" BB is our little underdog now but its time to wake up and smell the Hummus.

Excuse me? Im not making excuses, Im providing possibilities, dont't be so rude. If CH5 had have continued with BB13, it would not have got 2.7 Wednesday or 1.7 last night. It would have continued down the 1.2 million path. Yes, its going to rate poorly for CBB, but its still a boost to 5's ratings, and what do you expect for the third series this year?

Everyone is making excuses.

Im not being rude im just saying it how i see it.

We all thought this BB would be a success after launch seeing as the cast is so good and i dont think anyone expected it to lose a million viewers overnight.

I honestly thought last night would have stayed above 2 million.

Tonight is where we see how its going to average. If CBB drops any further the papers will be all over it saying how its failing.

Imagine CBB dropping below a million on Saturday? That would be awful.

Up until its third week, BB13 was officially averaging 1.92 million, I reckon CBB10 will beat that. Yes, I did expect more last night, but tonight could always fare a little better, you never know.

mkbb 17-08-2012 11:07 AM

Overkill? I think so.

JohnnyBB 17-08-2012 11:45 AM

Celebrity Big Brother dipped to 1.62m (8.4%) on Channel 5 in the 10pm hour, down 1.1m on its Thursday launch. Before Big Brother, The Hotel Inspector had 1.46m (6.6%).

Novo 17-08-2012 02:33 PM

Sure it will pick up a bit tonight with the face to face nominations

robb 17-08-2012 02:48 PM

Perhaps people saw on the first nite that they recognised less than half the housemates and decided to switch off. Overkill is another problem for sure.

SSL2012 17-08-2012 04:27 PM

BB Overkill simple as that...Tbh Five should of been finished with bb for 2012 after last monday this current crop of celeb's should of been the january batch.

With some heavy promo after a good 5 month break, ratings would probably be around 2.5 possibly 3mil a night. It's a seriously good casting, that deserves that kind of rating.

However it's very debatable Mr Kay snatched a good few hundred thousand last night.

No one's making excuses. Various factors do affect ratings and you do have to take them into consideration. Last night's ratings may not have been very good but it certainly would've fared better had it not been against that show.

Jake. 18-08-2012 10:44 AM

Ratings haven't been released just yet, but some interesting news from DS!:

Celebrity Big Brother was second in the 21:00 slot yesterday beating ITV1, Channel 4 and BBC Two - although all four networks were below 2 million in that slot!

Jake. 18-08-2012 10:46 AM

21:00 - Corrie Goes To Kenya: 1.77m (8.4%), +1: 108k (0.6%)

If the statement I just posted IS correct, CBB got higher ratings than 1.77 million.

SSL2012 18-08-2012 11:58 AM

Omg

jackc1806 18-08-2012 01:23 PM

So Cbb got less than 2million!?:(

Where does it say that?

Jake. 18-08-2012 01:49 PM

CBB will have a rating of anything between 1.77 and 2 million. Hopefully live noms also performed!

MTVN 18-08-2012 01:50 PM

Why not +2m?
