Trust is like a mirror; once it's broken, you'll never truly be able to repair the damage.

Very true.

I like this one

Never get mad at one who knows more than you do. It's not his fault, but yours. Lot of truth in that one too.

The wise man doubts often, and his views are changeable. The fool is constant in his opinions and doubts nothing, because he knows everything, except his own ignorance

I like :

Treat others the way you would like to be treated I try to stick to this as long as those others treat me properly of course ;)

Some of mine are
never count your chickens, till they hatch
treat others as you would like to be treated
people in glass houses should never throw stones
he who laughs last,laughs loudest

As ye sow so shall ye reap.

I often find that that is one that people tend to say they like and that they 'strive' to do.

Mud thrown is ground lost - that's a fairly accurate one.

Here's another version Kiz....

One reaps what one sows and the sowing of kindness is life's best investment.

Nope, I am not attempting to correct you nor am I implying you are wrong, as you did with me.

I offered a longer version of the same saying.

I love Buddhist/Dalai Llama proverbs so much that I try to live my life by them and in fact, if I were to turn to any religion, it would be Buddhism..

When you are discontent, you always want more, more, more. Your desire can never be satisfied. But when you practice contentment, you can say to yourself, 'Oh yes - I already have everything that I really need.'

Dalai Lama

Lee. 03-09-2012 10:48 AM

Oh in fact... that reminds me of another favourite of mine;

Health is wealth

So true

Jake. 03-09-2012 10:49 AM

Give a twat some bricks, he will use them as weapons. Give a man some bricks, and he will use them as tools... or something like that, I can't remember.

Have you heard of a book called 'Affluenza' by Oliver James?
Your quote really reminds me of it, it's a brilliant read :)

“Women and cats will do as they please, and men and dogs should relax and get used to the idea.”

“Anyone who thinks sitting in church can make you a Christian must also think that sitting in a garage can make you a car.”
