I NEED to catch up, ugh

Novo 22-03-2013 05:08 PM

This has gotten amazing recently, probably my favorite show on TV now after the past 3 or 4 episodes, there are so many small stories within the main story that are keeping it interesting

Spoiler:

- The Island Storyline with Oliver and Slade Wilson, Edward Fyers and Yao Fei is really interesting
- The Introduction of Red Arrow
- the whole twist about Sarah being alive
- The Triad, The Count, Deadshot, Malcolm Merlyn, Helena = All amazing Villains
- The background on Diggle's brother seems really interesting as well ( Hopefully they do a flashback on him soon and how Deadshot killed him )

And now that Felicity and Tommy now that Oliver is Arrow it has moved the show on so much in such a short amount of time

I never really fancied this, until you started this thread. I downloaded the 17 episodes, and got through them mostly over the weekend.

It's perfectly watchable, but not great. Every episode is a bit samey, but then most shows have a formula they stick to. The bigger stories are definitely interesting, and finding out about his transformation is really starting to develop.

Think the bad guys need to start hiring goons who can actually aim firearms though, as the amount of bullets sprayed in his direction versus hits made is a slightly silly aspect of the show.

[TV] Manu Bennett Promoted to Series Regular on Arrow
Posted by Jeffrey Harris on 03.20.2013

We'll be seeing more of Slade Wilson this fall...

The Hollywood Reporter reports that Manu Bennett has been promoted to a series regular for the second season of the Arrow TV series on the CW. Bennett now joins Colton Haynes, who plays Roy Harper, and Emily Bett Rickards, who plays Felicity Smoak, as series regulars for the next season.

Bennett portrays Slade Wilson, an ally to Oliver Queen when he was stranded on the island. In the comics, Slade is also known as the supervillain Deathstroke.

The new season of Arrow will air this fall. The show starring Stephen Amell as Oliver Queen airs on Wednesdays at 8PM ET/PT on the CW

Great news

Novo 03-05-2013 04:15 AM

Just finished watching the Undertaking Episode
Spoiler:

pretty surprised that Walt was rescued thought they would have left that dragging on more

Jesus. 03-05-2013 05:34 AM

I thought it was one of the best episodes of the series. I still really have issues with the use of guns:

Spoiler:

When he crashes the casino, and all the baddies are just spraying machine gun bullets across the whole casino instead of aiming at him

I'm glad he's found out what he has, and it's certainly set up for a good finale to the series. Definitely worth tuning in for series 2.

Novo 09-05-2013 05:04 AM

Just watched tonight's Episode and it was Amazing, sets up the Finale next week perfectly

Spoiler:

Felicity, Diggle and Oliver breaking into Merlyn's HQ was probably my favourite scene off the entire series so far, the Island flashback scenes were done really well and made Fyers into an even more legit amazing villain then he already he is.. especially after killing Yao Fei just all off a sudden. not really bothered about the Laurel/Tommy/Oliver stuff, it just goes back and forth so much but anything involving Felicy, Diggle and Oliver together is usually great. Oh yeah and Walter showing Moira the divorce papers was a great scene as well, she is the most annoying character on the show by far.

Novo 09-05-2013 05:11 AM

Starting to lose track of all the amazing one liners Felicity has come out with this season

Jesus. 09-05-2013 08:02 AM

Felicity is probably the best character on the show. I agree it was a good episode, especially the ending.

Spoiler:

Good to see the island stuff starting to wrap itself up as well. The Aussie soldier is supposed to be appearing as a bad guy next season, so I think he'll just escape with the daughter and have to leave him behind.

Will be good to see what happens in the finale. Killing his father isn't going to be good for Tommy and Olivers relationship. But then neither is walking to your ex's apartment to make up with her, and seeing her riding your best friend through the window!

It's a series that has gotten better as it's gone along. It does have a few problems though, the story is miniscule as is Ollie's character, it feels like all he does is speak in a deep voice and engage in numerous shirtless training sequences. Also Tommy's character is really annoying and his story arc is really obvious, he's going to end up taking on his father's mantle, hurry up and kill him off please.

Felicity is a great character though and both Laurel and Roy's characters have a lot of potential since in the comics....

Spoiler:

They end up becoming Black Canary and Red Arrow respectively.

The island stuff is really strong as well and Slade's an interesting character.

Novo 15-05-2013 03:40 PM

Yeah i agree, there was a point midway in the series where nothing was really happening and then Walter got kidnapped and it just started getting more interesting.

the guy who plays Fyers is amazing in that role as well
Spoiler:

I think Him and Oliver become Allies in the Comics after a while even though Fyers is still pretty much corrupted they seem to have an understanding so it will be interesting to see how they'll change Fyer's character and when he turn up in Starling

Novo 16-05-2013 02:22 PM

Spoiler:

YES!! they killed off Tommy, the final was okay although there were to many soft cheesy moments and not enough action scenes and it felt a bit rushed, they could have spread the events of that episode over 2 episodes instead of cramming it into one

Novo 16-05-2013 02:29 PM

Just yesterday, it seems we were wondering when Season 2 will begin… The CW has now announced that the 2013-2014 season, for them, will begin in October 2013. It’s a long wait, and we’ll let you know if anything changes, but there you go. An actual date announcement will come very late in June or early in July.

Wildcat! 16-05-2013 03:14 PM

Just watched the finale.
Spoiler:

I really liked the finale. It was a bit cheesy at times, but pretty good. Oliver's mother's confession was shocking. Ironically, She ends up taking the fall for everyone that "failed the city"! LOL. I was hoping Slade would show up in present time, but oh well,, till next season.

Jesus. 16-05-2013 03:24 PM

It was a good episode, but Novo was right about it being too crammed. Thinking back to some of those filler episodes, they could have easily got rid of a couple of those and really built the finale up properly.

Will be interesting to see where they take this next season.

Firefly and Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles star Summer Glau has booked a recurring role on The CW's breakout action drama toplined by Stephen Amell, The Hollywood Reporter has learned.
Glau will play the "enigmatically beautiful" and "dangerous" Isabel Rochev, vp acquisitions at Stellmoor International, a company looking to take over Queen Consolidated. She will first appear in the premiere.

On Arrow, not much is known of Isabel, except as part of a list of names in Robert Queen's book of corrupt and powerful people in Starling City. (In the DC Comics universe, the villainous Isabel — who appears in several Green Arrow issues — rose from being a slave to running Queen Industries, with the desire to return the company back to its former glory.)
Arrow — which began production earlier this week — has already introduced a slew of DC Comics characters, including Deadshot (Michael Rowe), China White (Kelly Hu), Malcolm Merlyn (John Barrowman) and Deathstroke/Slade Wilson (Manu Bennett), and often taps genre favorites like Seth Gabel (Fringe) and Tahmoh Penikett (Battlestar Galactica) to fill roles.
