Hmm.. I understand what you're saying, however I find my thoughts on death a lot easier to accept than the whole heaven/hell rigmarole.

Do i believe in a man living in the sky? No and George Carlin pretty much covers what i think.

In the Bull**** Department, a businessman can't hold a candle to a clergyman. 'Cause I gotta tell you the truth, folks. When it comes to bull****, big-time, major league bull****, you have to stand in awe of the all-time champion of false promises and exaggerated claims, religion. No contest. No contest. Religion. Religion easily has the greatest bull**** story ever told. Think about it. Religion has actually convinced people that there's an invisible man living in the sky who watches everything you do, every minute of every day. And the invisible man has a special list of ten things he does not want you to do. And if you do any of these ten things, he has a special place, full of fire and smoke and burning and torture and anguish, where he will send you to live and suffer and burn and choke and scream and cry forever and ever 'til the end of time!
But He loves you. He loves you, and He needs money! He always needs money! He's all-powerful, all-perfect, all-knowing, and all-wise, somehow just can't handle money! Religion takes in billions of dollars, they pay no taxes, and they always need a little more. Now, you talk about a good bull**** story. Holy ****!

Yes I believe in God and in Jesus Christ and in my humble opinion the world is a far far far far far far better place for Christ

What a great reply

I am Presbyterian and my family is not too conservative. I will always be raised Presbyterian even though I haven't been confirmed (I have been baptised) yet.

I don't think of myself as religious per se but I do believe in god. I feel the whole topic of religion is so sensitive, religion causes more wars than anything. I feel it is a deeply personal thing but if someone takes comfort in believing then that is what it should be about. Extremes of religion are difficult to understand though.

I see what you're saying and I'm not overly keen on the idea that everything came from nothing but I think believing in some homophobic bigot floating in the clouds is a tad silly. The same 'God' who wanted gays to be stoned and women to keep silent in church, right? Not to mention the many contradictions in the Bible.

Can God? :o

I don't believe in God but I'm pretty spiritual in my own hippy dippy way. Mostly owing to my refusal to believe that feeling love is just a sort of complicated chemical reaction. Yeah I know you're going to explain how it can be but ... I don't really care and I'm not going to agree with you.

Also I thought I was going to be the first person to mention Final Fantasy VII. Amazing, hehe. It's a nice textbook example of that vague sort of spirituality that unemployable nutters like me hold in high regard.

Niamh. 23-10-2012 11:32 AM

OMG Stu, you're alive :amazed:

Stu 23-10-2012 11:34 AM

I'm living in a house without an internet connection. I got two cats though so it's a fair trade. I've become a huge fan of the Vampire Diaries. A lot has happened.

Niamh. 23-10-2012 11:35 AM

Oh no internet, probably a good thing actually

Shaun 23-10-2012 11:35 AM

oh... tvd... oh dear.

-shuns-

Stu 23-10-2012 12:05 PM

It's oddly compulsive. Probably because I want to bone Damon Salvatore.

Yeah ... defniately no God.

Niamh. 23-10-2012 12:32 PM

Who doesn't tbf?, if ever there was a good argument for God, he's it.

Kizzy 23-10-2012 01:09 PM

Well I would say i'm more pagan in my beliefs, however I would never scoff others...if it harms none and all that.
The evil happening in the world in the name of religion is soul destroying.

LemonJam 23-10-2012 01:13 PM

Bought up in a religious family attending church every Sunday, not actually religious now, but tell the parents I am to keep them happy.
