Well I have to say in relation to the comments of women in the workplace.
I'm shocked, I thought we were further on than this, no disrespect meant seriously.

Marsh. 23-11-2012 12:15 AM

To be fair, her comments were about how her heels made her feel not about the effect they had on men.

no she claimed it gave her a psychological advantage in a male dominated workplace

She claimed it helped her in the workplace, but it was all psychological. Meaning it was all about confidence in her own mind.

That is what she said, that is what she implied, that is what she clarified.

Well yes, It does seem to suggest it is purely for confidence.
I think though times are changing very fast, and younger women now are more comfortable in male dominated professions.

wrong thats your interpretation which I think is a profoundly distorted one. she thought it gave her a psychological advantage over her mostly male colleagues. which in my opinion is nonsense and also prejudges what the mass of male coleagues actually think which is also nonsense

Marsh. 23-11-2012 12:43 AM

She has clarified my "interpretation" was correct.

Indeed and I see no need for further discussion on this, posts have already been deleted in here, time to drop it

why talk of women only? havent men got feelings too?

theres no reason they shouldnt be, the question really is how comfortable are men in female dominated profesions? schools (theres less than 10% male teachers now in primary schools), customer service centres, nursing, fashion, social work, doctors surgeries, etc vastly female dominated. i recall my times in the banking secotr Id say it was at least 80% women. all the bawdy humour was from the women. the guys spoke more about general topics like sports politics , the women spoke far far far more about sex. It didnt offend me, though at times it did bore me.

overall though It was great fun but it was the total opposite to the alleged male dominated workplaces that supposedly prevail across the nation. this was over a decade ago. perhaps it worked ecause of the fact almost everyone had a sense of humour. saldy if it was the other way around id imagine a feminist would have taken offense and taken something out of context. if a woman says it its light hearted fun, if a man says the same thing its borderline sexist and hes a dinosaur. for the record I hate it when men pigeon hole women as slappers or treat them as there purely for sex, I dont want to hear any intimate sexual details thank you, but in truth I very rarely hear men speak like this.

But I assure you groups of women talking about their private sex lives with strangers is equally nauseating. sex and love making is intimate and whilst a laugh is fine, it can soon become crass.

No it wasnt. besides interpetations are subjective there is no 100% correct or incorrect, so your premise is incorrect. you continue to fail to address the topic itself though.

Jake. 23-11-2012 12:53 AM

Ok just wondering now what is your problem with women?

LemonJam 23-11-2012 12:53 AM

oh wow an argument over high heels.

We're talking about women because the topic of the thread is women wearing high heels and the many reasons why they might do.

that reply was specifically referring to another reply, why are you choosing to take it out of context? anyways back to the topic, why do you think women wear high heels/

But once again you've taken a random topic (this one about women wearing high heels) and turned it into another tirade against women.

MTVN 23-11-2012 12:57 AM

Just going to lock this, it's become a bit of a farce and I can't really see much point leaving it open
