Haha, I do that, I like to react to the original post myself before I see any analysis, and actually I did secretly think it might do this well. I didn't predict high because of DIY SOS, it can rate from 3m to 6.

He was trending for 2 days.

Even if the ratings drop off to CBB10 average now atleast the final series average will be about 2.6 due to the launch bumping up the average which will look brilliant for channel 5.

Jack_ 04-01-2013 11:02 AM

Great rating. The only problem I ever have with these kind of figures for CBB is that they worry me with regards to C5's attitude, and let's say...obsession...with the celebrity series. I'm still not entirely convinced that there won't come a day when they'll decide to drop the main show and just run two CBB's a year, and CBB regularly performing better than BB itself is only going to add fuel to the fire.

DigitalSid 04-01-2013 11:11 AM

+1 rating was 178,000 (1.1%), BOTS got 1.24million (10.46%).

SSL2012 04-01-2013 11:21 AM

Indeed.

This is why CBB is so crucial for five, and aslong as normal bb can maintain its current average though i do think it will better last years average this year, then i wouldn't be surprised if bb is around for many years.

No show can touch those figures on the network.

And tbf to normal bb, even that still does better then 95% of shows in ratings for the channel at 1.5million overnights.

And i'm sure endemol are clever, bb is a package, if five wish to keep CBB then BB most be part of the deal.

Thats brilliant for bots.

Cant believe how much viewers it retains from the main show when you think that something like The Xtra Factor can only keep about 700,000 from the main X Factor show which gets 9million.

BB certainly has a certain ammont of dedicated fans.

Im crap with maths so what did CBB launch get with +1 included?

3.55m with +1. It was 3.37m excluding.

Ah ok so it was actually slightly down from CBB9 which got 3.5 overnight and 3.6 officialy right?

Jake. 04-01-2013 12:17 PM

CBB9 got 3.2 overnight didn't it?

The first rating includes +1, I posted it anyway to show how well it timeshifted.

Great launch night ratings, but like Jack said above, I worry for the future of normal Big Brother.

Don't, it gets 1.5m every weeknight for 2 months and fills around 150 hours of peaktime with new, twitter popular content, it's going nowhere.

They were talking about the show today on Loose Women (but slating Paula :bored:) so good to see it getting more publicity. Also agree with Jack though..

Will there definitely be another CBB series in summer/autumn?

DigitalSid 04-01-2013 01:17 PM

More stats for you.

It beat C4 9-10pm 2 to 1 and C4 10-11pm , 3 to 1. BOTS also beat C4 in it's slot 3 to 1.

ITV and the digital channels combined had a smaller 16-34 share.

The retention of viewers from BB to BOTS, despite it's midnight finish, was almost 35%.

Loukas 04-01-2013 01:18 PM

Woooo! Hopefully it will stay strong!
