I woke up a few nights ago with my ears pounding and my heart raving.. I wanted to get up and do my usual running away from myself but I was still half asleep,. I spent the rest of the night jolting myself awake thinking I couldn't breathe. Surely it's not normal to be panicky whilst asleep??

Where is Lee she hasn't been on since this post D:

Not wanting to go into too much detail about her personal life but she had some family issues recently.

I had one recently in hospital, probably due to the situation I realised I was in. It was awful really but they dealt with it by giving me loads of librium and that basically sent me completely spaced out and I just fell asleep. I'd hate to think what it's like in public though because if you're on your in I'm sure a lot of people don't actually know what to do.

it is awful, I've been shopping when they've started, I used to just go home, sometimes just left my shopping, last couple of times it's happened I have gone and sat somewhere quietly and done breathing exercises, it sounds weird but I've learned techniques to help them pass more quickly, and they work. It took me a while to get the hang of it though, and it feels silly doing it, people have asked me if I'm alright lol. The flight (run away) instinct is so strong, but it's mind over matter, the first time I tried it I had to will myself to even sit down and try not to just go home. And then when it passes I feel fine, so just carry on as I was. Unless you've experienced them it's very hard to explain.

I've always wondered why my anxiety/panic attacks started for no apparent cause... I've received devastating news within the last week and apart from the usual reactions and one mini flake out, I have been anxiety free.

I know it sounds really daft, but I think my body has been preparing me for bad news subconsciously. I'm feeling very strong and calm today :)

..that's good to hear that you're feeling a better Lee and there are usually are triggers but they can be quite subtle things so it's hard to avoid them..have you ever spoken to anyone about help to control them when you feel them coming..?..
