Russell's pretty awful though, his whole MO is being a dick to women and yelling at them to shut up and do what he says if they know what's good for them. That wouldn't translate into good television as it is, but combine that with a bloated edit and it's next to impossible to watch. I know some people here still delude themselves into thinking Russell was this amazing innovative cutthroat player (shoutout to you SoBig) but he was anything but? It was just a bunch of self-congratulatory fluff, marching up and down the beach telling everyone that he was the greatest player EVER, and then makes it to the final three because everyone realizes he's a joke and then he gets *crushed* when he gets like 2/9 jury votes MAX. It's literally the same thing every time, trying to create an alliance of gormless idiot women (underrating Natalie's social game in the process in Samoa and getting way over his head with Sandra and Parvati in HvV), because that's all he's capable of doing.

And on top of it all Russell completely ruined his era of Survivor. Ever since Samoa we've been swamped with fake ass "masterminds" who only give self-congratulatory confessionals like David Murphy and Jim Rice, and the editors have made the winners super obvious to prove that they were deserving and didn't win just because of a bitter jury. He literally was the worst thing to happen to the show.

Boston Rob had a numbers advantage in HvV and Russell still beat him when they went head to head. He did the same thing in Samoa where is tribe was down 4-8 at the merge. Russell was a great player, do I think he is the greatest ever? No, not at all. His social game sucks, but he is a good strategist and manipulator.

From what I recall it was Natalie who changed the game to their favour. If she had not flipped the other tribe on Erik, Jasion would have gone. Shambo got blindsided by that vote as well so that helped her flip in the next few votes.
