Far from it,for me hopefully for many years to come yet too.
In fact also for anyone who may be interested, she has had further chart success in Europe last year, has toured Australia last year and done concerts in both Europe and the USA too.
She is currently in the UK album chart with a totally new studio album and will also be doing concerts in the UK in October.
80 years of age and not looking anywhere near it.
After 70 years of a career where she has been a chart star all over the World,a songwriter too,an actress in straight roles and musicals,a radio star from being a child and also a TV star in the UK, West end and Broadway star in shows like Sunset Boulevard and Blood Brothers,Petula has never stopped re-inventing her career and giving all to her fans and audiences who go to see her.
I am so glad though that she is not doing Eurovision.
Like Dusty Springfield who Kizzy mentioned who did sadly pass away in the late 90s, these are 2 of the greater female singers who always gave Eurovision a wide berth even in their most successful years, not just quieter years for them.
I would love to know if she was aksed to do it this year, somehow I couldn't see her Husband who is still her management too agreeing to her doing it. I do think with a song like 'Cut Copy Me' from her new album that she could have done well in Eurovision though especially with her strong European music connection.
