The Underwood's rise to power was truly remarkable, and this show has a weird way about it in which it makes you detest them yet root for them. I LOVE Freddy :love:

A few shoutouts to ~that season two, episode one scene with Frank and Zoe~, truly the most literally jaw-dropping television moment I think I've ever seen :o my mouth was wide open for the rest of the episode, and I'm not joking. That followed by the 'hunt or be hunted' direct address with the 'FU' cufflinks - one of my favourite of all time :love:

Loved the ending to season two as well with Frank's punching of the oval office desk <3

...I wish they would bring back the table punching, actually.

This season was pretty drab on the whole but what I hated most about it was Doug ****ing Stamper. In a series that is full of truly detestable, unlikeable characters...and a main one that's a serial murderer, he truly is the creepiest, most repugnant of them all.

I cannot stand him. Nor could I abide the writers' depiction of him this season. Their attempts at making the audience feel sympathy towards him only to them remind us of just how disgusting he is made me feel angry and sick. This all, of course, culminated in a totally unnecessary end for Rachel (</3). I do not watch this show to divulge in crass torture porn, in fact I actively avoid programmes like that, so to be subjected to an hour of it was seriously unpleasant. I also didn't like the way in which a bi/homosexual female character was effectively used as fodder for a perverted, creepy straight old guy. Her attacking him at the end of S2 was a brilliant display of female power and it was all completely decimated and undermined by the way in which she was stalked and treated throughout S3. There was no justification for it any of it as far as I'm concerned.

I thought perhaps he had turned a corner when he drove off, but then of course he turned around and at that point I knew it was all over. He's vile. And so was the writing of this story.

This was an absolutely stellar season and I echo what Dezzy said.

Episode 4's ~incident~ is on par with said scene from season 2 in terms of jaw-dropping-ness, I totally didn't see it coming and it knocked me for six. Meechum </3

There were some incredibly acted scenes this season with some great quotes - ones that spring to mind are Frank and Claire's 'you don't know what it means to have nothing', Frank and Cathy in the oval office and of course the final scene of the season where Claire breaks the fourth with Frank's 'that's right, we don't submit to terror. We make the terror' - chills much?! When she turned her head when he started speaking I was like OMG what's going on. Intrigued to see whether she'll get direct addresses next season

I am so, so glad that Tom's digging amounted to something and the way in which it progressed with Remy, Jackie and Walker coming on board, and the fact that it was at least published...I was worried the writers would find a way to bury it, or that he'd even be killed. I just really hope now that this is the beginning of the end for the Underwood's...I guess if there's more seasons to come then perhaps not but I swear if this show doesn't end with impeachment and a prison sentence for the both of them (I won't be happy with him dying) I'm not going to be pleased. It's called House of Cards for a reason, it has to topple at some point. That's the only reason I'm watching.

I was also surprised that they didn't conclude the election this season, I had assumed going into it that the last episode would consist of his re-election, but perhaps that may now mean going into season five things may not necessarily go their way?

Was nice to see Zoe and Russo cameos too. One thing that I don't understand looking back though were the Frank and Claire violent hallucinations in the first half of the season...what were they supposed to symbolise? I thought they were foreshadowing a genuine fight towards the end like that, but it never materialised.

One last thing: that woman needs to stay the **** away from Doug. Ew.

There were so many good things about this season, I'm so excited for the next one now! :clap1:

Well well well, this show has been priming for a Claire presidency for about two seasons now so I'm completely unsurprised but did think they'd have it as the closing scene on the last ever episode (after she'd killed Frank) so in that respect I'm shocked they've done it so early. I'm guessing Mark Usher will be the equivalent in my theory now after his wave at the inauguration (shook)

How cool was it when she had her first monologue? :o when that scene started I was like 'she'll talk to us by the end of this season' and boom there it was. Talking of monologues, Frank had some great ones this season - my favourite was the one of him around DC landmarks after the election episode (which was awesome in itself) :love:

I've really enjoyed this season, there's been plenty of twists and interesting plot lines (even if I did see Yates' death and the Cathy stairs push coming a mile off). They also really managed to strike the tone of real-life politics perfectly and mirror what's actually going on atm with regards to terror, it's chilling

I'm glad their administration is somewhat starting to crumble but I am a little tired of the people ~in the know~ being killed off so there's no trace, it's a bit lazy and also they're being replaced with even more deplorable people so there's very few to root for. I realise that's what this show is about but still, I want them to fall!

Doug continues to be a pathetic creep of a man. That is all.

And I do hope that Frank will continue to play a large role in the next season, Claire is nowhere near as fun a character as he is.
