That's mad  lol

Marsh. 11-04-2013 07:57 PM

I was more surprised by the behind the scenes of the "king of the world" scene.

Chuck 11-04-2013 08:05 PM

Melancholia and The Hours.

the cinematography wa sawesome. the special effect slooked realistic and didnt go for all this disastrous cartoon looking nonsense.....the story is a typical disgusting depressing english story of class discrimination...frankly we should be ashamed to retell it....the scots and irish built it, the north and the welsh supplied all the coal, steel, copper and wood,,,,then the aristocracy drove it too far too fast just to show off, then they drowned the irish like rats

disgusting

anyone back to the movie

it was about 40 minutes overlong tbh , the dialogue wasnt terrific, winslet was sex on legs but too wooden, leo was pretty good.

7.5 out of 10 brilliantly made movie just needed to work on the dialgue and making the characters a tad more interesting

Di Caprio is the best thing about the movie for me! :amazed::evilgrin:

decaprio is clearly a far better trained actor than winslet, he seems to use both sense memory more but also far more imagination...winslet is a pretty one dimensional performer, but her sexiness always saves her

I agree. I'm big fan of his. He always gives a great performance.

Girl, Interrupted (but it's one of my all-time favorite movies). The scene where Brittany Murphy's character kills herself really gets me.

Smithy 11-04-2013 08:42 PM

Don't have to watch it now, thanks ryan

Bitch please

It is a wonderful film and everyone should see it regardless

Oh, another one though is definitely 'The Mist'. Possibly the most depressing ending i've ever seen.

I love Angelina Jolie in that movie.

The film was crap apart from the ending. I agree, was pretty sad for an ending.

I know, me too. I think it's one of her best roles.

I would definitely agree with this one.

GypsyGoth 11-04-2013 09:31 PM

I agree with Dezzy about Grave of the Fireflies, it's heartbreaking.

And I found Melancholia riveting, I loved the film :worship:

Also: Angela's Ashes, The Magdalene Sisters, Leaving Las Vegas.

omg, I'd I'd forgotten about that! That is by far the most depressing film ever. I couldn't actually watch it now that I have kids of my own

i watched it for the first time last night and i was a mess. it takes a lot to make me cry, but it easily set me off.

I cried the day after just thinking about it. :(

the truth 12-04-2013 01:37 AM

yeah leaving las vegas is sad (man shue is sexy in that movie), also philadelphia is very moving (not depressing exactly just very sad and touching),dead man walking, how green is my valley (deeply moving not exactly depressing though) 1984

Ammi 17-04-2013 08:05 PM

Ah yeah, that's what i'd call depressing, depressing is different to just a sad film I think and that film makes you feel properly depressed, eventhough it was good

Ammi 17-04-2013 08:10 PM

..yeah, sad can be good as well..I thought Up was sad but it was uplifting as well...and Seven Pounds..that was sad..but there was nothing uplifting about Revolutionary Road..it was just a depressing story and left you feeling nothing....and I thought the same of My Sister's Keeper as well..just pointless...

Marc 17-04-2013 08:13 PM

I haven't seen it but I say Marley and Me

Vanessa 17-04-2013 08:15 PM

I'd say Baharia, an italian movie. I cried so much at that. Such a moving story. :bawling:

GypsyGoth 17-04-2013 08:51 PM

I agree about Revoluntary Road, the only one I have seen that reminded me of it was The Master, the plots could hardly be more different, but both movies left me feeling empty inside and dwelling on the pointlessness of life.

Ammi 17-04-2013 08:55 PM

..another one was Crash..it wasn't as bad as Revolutionary Road and had some powerful messages but was still quite a depressing movie...
