I just googled 'pool rules' and first link is to British Pool Federation claims that the cue ball can be placed anywhere in the baulk area (except on the line) after the cue ball has been potted. CUE BALL IN HAND – when a player has the cue ball in hand he/she plays from any position on or within the ‘D’ and in any direction

Mikey's argument was " why is the line there then?"

Oh my god, I cant believe people are taking pool rules seriously, some people play by the line, others play by the semi-circle big deal
