Its usally the fans that turn me off a housemate and i liked Dexter to begin with but this blind admiration and haling him as the saviour of the show is just stupid.

I agree with you a little, sometimes I find too much praise can be a turn off.

However you didn't help the situation by asking fans to talk about why they think he's great. This thread is a good discussion, but it's heaped with his praise.
