Gina does my head in but criticising her looks is a low blow man come on.

Plus one of the pictures you picked was her with that horrible drink thing, few people would look good whilst they are drinking dog food and fermented fish.

Two wrongs don't make a right, the girl should be ignored but by hitting out with insults people just stoop to her pathetic insular level.

Styles yes, looks no.

I just don't see how you can justify people bashing her looks, you said... "her attitude and the endless hours she spends every day making herself look as different from her natural appearance as possible"

How does her wanting to be different justify spiteful comments about her looks?

brucie 01-08-2013 05:00 PM

Hazel is everything Gina dreams of looking like...

The caking of white makeup still dosen't achieve the result she is desparate for...

She dresses like a hooker but called hazel a 'sket'!?

Her jealousy is such a cruel trait...

Their looks? Can you give an example please. I don't remember her attacking someones looks.

I think you're forgetting this is a reality show. They're in the house so that WE can judge them...

If Gina didn't care about her looks, or came out and said that she was insecure about them, etc., I doubt anyone would have a go at her. However, she walks around acting like she's the best looking girl on the planet, while slagging off the others as if they're not on her 'level'. As the public, keeping in mind its up to us to vote on them and essentially 'judge' them, it's only natural to therefore question certain things about them. It just so happens that Gina is all about her 'looks', that's her defining characteristic. She's chosen that for herself, its' not like we're projecting it onto her without cause.

For the record, I haven't said anything negatively about her looks, I really don't care tbh. But I do find it odd that she's so committed to looking differently then her natural state. I think its completely legitimate to comments on that and wonder why that's the case.

I haven't bashed her 'looks' or said anything negative about how she appears naturally. Nor do I condone other people doing so. However, I personally question why it is she goes so far out of her way to look as different as she possible can to her natural state. Which I think is fair given the circumstances. This is a reality show. They're in there to be judged. So I get that some people will judge and potentially cross the line and be nasty, I don't necessarily support that, but I would never tell or suggest to someone else what they should or shouldn't have an opinion on or talk about. I don't personally know anyone here, it would be hypocritical of me to do so.

If someone has the video of the Diary room rant and can post it, I think you'll find that she does actually say things about some of the housemates that aren't related specifically to the clothes they wear, she does touch on their actual 'looks' if I remember correctly.

Jords 01-08-2013 05:10 PM

I would like to point out that the first picture is after drinking a vile drink as part of as task and the second picture is after just waking up... what girl or guy would look their best in any scenaria?

Absolute thoughtless thread that just shows the OP up!

How is insulting somebody's looks judging them?

The O.P was two pictures of her in a not so pleasant state and boasting about how she doesn't look good.

Razor 01-08-2013 05:12 PM

When she first arrived on the show I thought one of secrets was Gina was a man that had the chop.

When or where did I say that? The part of my comment that you bolded certainly doesn't insinuate that I have or support that opinion...

The bold part was for my second point.

You said they are in the house to be judged in your first sentence and are on here defending people for hitting out at her looks. 2 + 2 makes 4 and all that.

I also said I don't condone being nasty. Their is a difference between judging someone (which is what this show is all about), questioning the motivations behind their actions (in this case it has to do with Gina and her motivation to look differently then her natural appearance), and just being plain downright and nasty. I even specifically mentioned that I don't condone or support people making remarks of that (nasty) nature. However, everyone can make whatever opinion they like and have whatever view they like, it's a little naive to think you can change that or dictate to people what they can and can't talk about.

I'm not trying to dictate anything it should be common sense that being derogatory about a persons looks is a low blow.

But I don't think that means that she opens the door to be mocked just because she spends a lot of time with her make-up bag.

If she'd called someone else ugly then fair enough.

Don't agree with slagging people off for their looks, however, she did say last night that Hazel was a cross between a wrestler and a hobbit! And she wasn't trying to be funny, she meant it,although it was pure ridiculous!?! Gina is an ugly person on the inside, imo>

I haven't accused you of bashing her looks but your first post does look like you are trying to justify attacks by others, if you read it back.

Just scanned through last nights episode, watched Gina's diary room and also the scenes with Gina in them. Not once did she make disparaging remarks about someones looks.

Apologies. I should have been clearer on my first post. What I meant to imply was that I understand some people will no doubt have a go at her, and it's because of her own attitude and the importance she herself places on her looks. She makes it a talking point. And while I think it's fair play to question her motivation behind her makeup routine, and why it is exactly she chooses to go about her appearance the way she does, their is obviously a difference between discussing the facts and actions at hand and just generally slagging someone off and being nasty because they may or may not be physically attractive.

I think it was a few nights back when she was in the Diary room having a go at the other housemates looks & styles...

Benjamin 01-08-2013 05:42 PM

Aww, poor Gina. I like her because she is funny and interesting.
