Keep it under a cold tap for 10 mins or so.
Do not put ice on, do not put cream on it.
Wrap it in cling film, it will protect it from infection, keep it on a few days the blisters should sort themselves out.
If in doubt, or excessive pain get to a doctors.

But it burns...oh never mind

Benjamin 29-08-2013 04:13 PM

I'm assuming you haven;t gone to A & E. You should, if it gets infected you'll be worse off for it and it can leave some serious skin damage if left unattended properly.

You're supposed to piss on oil burns

Because it was oil, do I have to clean it before I put cream on it, because it's too painful to clean. I only have Savlon to put on it, so is that going to do the trick, or do I need something else?

crikey I burnt myself with a hot water bottle last year....went straight to the hospital....they said it wasn't major and they washed it and put some creams on it and some kind of mesh that would kill any germs....they then sent nurses to my house twice a week for a few weeks as I had my leg in plaster....1 of them was molten hot too, but she didn't notice my boner.
hope this helps and good luck

They are big, hearty sausages, so easier to make sure they are cooked through in the oven.

..why didn't you barbecue them, it's lovely outside..?...

What you've done there, is mix oil burns and your face up.

AnnieK 29-08-2013 04:37 PM

The cling film trick works with oil burns I think. My friend had a chip pan fire and three the chip pan outside after she had put the fire out and oil splash all up her legs. She went to a and e and they checked for what degree burns and put cling film round it. Be careful when taking it off though as you can take the skin with it.

BBQ's and 3rd floor living don't seem to agree with each other. BBQ's are even worse than grills for cooking things all the way through.

Thanks for that. I think I'm going to make it.

I don't take painkillers though so I'll just have to go with it.

Oh you're one of those people who avoids medicine and medical services at all costs. One of my close friends is like that. He'd never taken a paracetamol until two years ago. :nono:
