Contact is a great movie. one of my favorites.

I don't know for sure if aliens exist, but i hope they do. I think they do.

It's practically a mathematical impossibility that intelligent life doesn't exist within our own galaxy... and there are innumerable galaxies in the Universe. Although, it's not as simple as saying that the planets have to be within the habitable zone of their solar system; they have to be in the habitable part of the galaxy, too... towards the centre of each galaxy, radiation levels and "cosmic events" are off the charts and nothing could survive... But anyway...

There will be billions upon billions of stars exactly like our sun, and a good percentage of those will be orbited by planets under exactly the same conditions as Earth, so the real question is... why WOULDN'T some of those host life just like Earth does? The idea that there are "no aliens" is insane... there simply must be. There are probably billions of alien species out there, and millions of intelligent ones. Or countless more. There might not even be just one Universe

Although maybe they just mean "visitors", or aliens that have come to Earth, don't exist. Which is probably true.

I'm inclined to believe that it is the governments of the world doing the abductions and testing all sorts of nasty stuff on their unsuspecting people.

There's life in the universe, there has to be but I don't think we've ever encountered it and I hope we never do unless we're the ones to find it.

If a more advanced race managed to find their way to Earth it would end in a bloodbath. If an Alien's psychology was anything like ours then there's no way they'd come in peace.

but you're assuming they would see us as a threat. what if they just see us as part of the landscape. the way we see animals. we don't go out of our way to make animals extinct, and we kinda feel guilty when we do hurt animals, but if we really need something, we don't hesitate to disrupt those animals and take what we want.

We don;'t want to hurt the planet, or the enviornment, or the animals, but we do... Maybe aliens would see humans the same way, we are just part of the universe, and they don't want to hurt us, they might even think we're cute... that doesn't mean they don't ever harm us though, in their pursuit of knowledge and study. if they are millions of years more evolved, they'd see us the same way we see apes. we don't hesitate to study res, even abduct some to put in a zoo. sometimes worse, we perform medical experiments on them after we start breeding them in captivity.

Tom4784 14-08-2016 01:25 PM

They wouldn't see us as animals, they'd see us as the dominant species and they'd go about trying to change that. It's what humans would do and I have no reason to believe other intelligent life would think differently.
