Quite sad but it's not as if we all didn't know it was coming. He changed the world and lived a long, amazing life.

JFK "Ask not what your country can do for you but you can do for your country"

If I was 95 and i'd put that to use, I would have been happy with myself. Hope he was smiling when he went.

I have just been upto date with the news. It is a very sad day for the world losing one of the greatest leaders and civil rights activists. This will be a very sad time for South Africa to reflect on this great man. R.I.P Nelson Mandela.

Edit: I realise that sounds pretty disrespectful. R.I.P etc.

That does come across disrespectful even though that wasn't your intention and I know what your intention was.

He was a great man and a huge loss to this world, but yes, I am glad his suffering his over at long last.

Shaun 06-12-2013 02:30 AM

RIP

But prepare for a media domination just this

When Mandela dies, and David Cameron jumps on the Mandela bandwagon, remember that in 1985 he was a top member of the Federation of Conservative Students, which produced the "Hang Mandela" posters. In 1989, Cameron worked in the Tory Policy Unit at Central Office and went on an anti-sanctions fact-finding mission to South Africa with a pro-apartheid lobby firm sponsored by PW Botha. Remember this when he tells the world he was inspired by Madiba.
