It's an example of slang local way of speaking that is not correct, which I'm presuming is the same for this phrase you claim to hear a lot. A phrase that has caught on with people even though it is technically not correct.

"Once a text has been drawn up the process is only half way through: as a matter of fact, barely nobody can produce a perfect draft, hence the final version is achieved through accurate proofreading."

This is the first sentence on a PROOFREADING website!

"EBL Italia not only translates texts but also revises pre-translated material and monolingual texts that need to be polished and perfected by our linguists.

Is English your second language, Nemo? I've never known anyone - even on here - to argue a point so quite fervently when they're clearly and demonstrably wrong. You're being intentionally obtuse because you're bored. And now... so am I.

An Italian website? Colour me convinced.

A link to the British Council's guide to grammar wasn't quite good enough for him, so naturally, he turned to the Italians, having nowhere else to go.

With flawless English linguists.
Just read a paragraph or two.

I'm right. I've won. Concede like a gentleman/lady.

Marsh. 19-12-2013 10:23 PM

You're not winning anything in the English language.

They obviously employ Irish nationals to do the English bits!:joker:

No, you haven't. You've proved to everyone your grammar is pretty poor, but that you could talk a pie off a shelf.

Did you even have one to begin with? :conf:

You were simply wrong, no argument involved.
