Do you know why Katherine is on meds? Do you know what her situation is?

I don't know the answer to either of these questions, which is why I wouldn't suggest she 'wean herself off' anything. Some people require meds to function on a day to day basis. Some people only require them short-term. Everyone's situation is different. But one thing is common.. people who do require meds often wish they didn't.

I find your post ignorant, and insulting.

I think you need to take a chill pill L

Go somewhere else for your argument your comments do not deserve a reply.

lily. 11-05-2014 07:44 PM

Why are you replying then?

Explain to me how it was helpful or contributed anything positive to Katherine's thread.

Oh sorry. I didn't know you were a medical professional. You should have mentioned that before.

:laugh2: I would be more inclined to believe the doctor that prescribes them tbh, than a wannabe quack on the internet.

It can be helpful though Chuff to prescribe SSRI's or SNRI's for people with anxiety disorders.

Sometimes those meds can help people react to exposure therapy or CBT.

I'm sensing a bit of animosity on your part Vicky.

In the same way that people with chronic anxiety need medication. The fact that it's psychological in origin makes it no less real and valid as other medical concerns. Stop being ignorant.

Oh in some case they are amazing ,but one of the easiest ways of getting onto invalidity is bad back or depression, the number of folk around where I live who are on top money because they claim depression is obscene ,even my SIL has been on top money for years claiming shes depressed, when she goes for medical she turns on the tears, never fails, if you NEED them (as some do ) then thats different ,but not everyone does, unlike diabetics who must have insulin
