I thought so to, but I dont class someone who makes jokes at a death, very 'nice' to be honest.
He may have been in the public eye, but hes still normal.
I doubt Jakey would go to a funeral, and start making jokes.
Ah well you don't know me too well then

But of course you people loved him. He wasn't making a joke of your country
That was his job, I doubt hes like that really. Its his hook.
The Queen makes us English look posh and drink tea all the time. But when she dies, I aint going to make jokes. Im not that insensitive.
Plenty of programmes (Friends, for example) have made us out to be snobs, but I still love it.
Trust me, he was a true-blue "bloke" and I know em when I see em. The difference is, I KNOW you don't all drink tea. It's damn well obvious.

But for your amusement, I shall from now on act like a stupid bogan

Im totally on steves side, he said he had planned it through all before, there was several teams and stuff should anything have gone wrong
But nothing did
At first I thought that had I seen that documentary I too would probably have been assured ,but then I started thinking that he would have taken these precautions on his latest trip too. I Just think that with dangerous animals almost anything can happen.I felt uncomfortable when i saw his daughter put in this position but must confess i dont recall what animal it was.

Do you think we're really THAT stupid, to base our opinion on ONE guy.
No.
Ive seen plenty of Australian things.
Its NO reason to make fun of his death. He was a good guy.

Lil-Lindz 04-09-2006 01:23 PM

I belive the animal that did kill him A stingray to be precise, is normally a very placid and calm animal, however on this very rare occurance the stingray attacked
I have read somewhere that in the whole of australia only 3 people have ever been killed by a stingray attack so this must have been a very unfortunate and rare occurance

He dived on him... what do you expect?

EDIT: I mean Irwin dived on the sting-ray

Lil-Lindz 04-09-2006 01:29 PM

Im sorry jakey but i fail to see why you think that
Steve loved animals and constantly perserved to promote the protection of many species, including crocodiles snakes and sharks
Steve knew the risks of whatg he was doing, after all it was his career and lifestyle and i doubt he would have done anything that would have but himself at rish, especially "dining onto" the stingray
The words you used were very crude, steve was a profesional and didn't go round just diving on stingrays!

Yeah sorry i meant the animal in the documentary you saw.?
and yes they said it was very odd after all hes done to be killed by a stingray. But in a way that is the point about anything can happen. It wouldn`t be right to take that decision on behalf of a young daughter. Afterall I,as an adult, choose to avoid such situations

He didn't mean to though! Gosh, he isn't THAT stupid. It was an accident...

Well I am not particularly bothered by Irwin's death ... I know that sounds really harsh and everything, and obviously his family must be sad because he was younger than old age if you know what I mean, but I never knew him and, let's face it, Steve never played a part in my life, so I can see what Jake is saying, but Jake for the sake of everyone on here getting annoyed at you maybe you should have kept your mouth shut! Lol

So all Australians don't go around saying "g'day mate"??

Lil-Lindz 04-09-2006 01:34 PM

The animal was a crocodile, I beliedve the reasons he did this were valid
He wanted his son to love animals especially crocs
He said so himself he has crocs in his garden
He needed to introduce his son to these animals at an early age to avoid the horrors of wating a few years
also he said so himself 3 media people were filming that day, one made nothing of it and didnt show it, another though it was a fun piece and put it and the end while the last one got the right shot and made a big deal out of it

I heard it once in my life but that was in a real bogan area.

And people are taking what I have said so stupidly that I cannot believe. I'm not joking about death... half my life has had death in it so I'd be the last one to joke about it

Bells 04-09-2006 01:35 PM

No they dont emz, lmao.
I'm sick of all the arguing now - I know Jake should have been more sensitive to his death, but you can't change his opinion on the fact that he basically doesn't like Steve.

emz438 04-09-2006 01:36 PM

Why are we talking about crocodiles now? :elephant: sorry if I'm just being ignorant!

Well I have to say my opinion on Australian men WAS kind of based on Steve Irwin, since he's the only Australian I, er, have heard of or know or whatever.
Yeah I agree! Listen to Ash! Hehe :nono:
