So that morning, I decided to watch the Today Show on NBC. I was watching it, as it happened.

It was horrible, rubble and smoke everywhere.....lots of policemen, firemen, ambulances etc. Basically we were only a couple of feet away from where the twin towers WOULD have been....and it was just a complete mess. It made me feel sad too, because it was my first time to New York so I never knew what the Twin Towers actually were like....but from that spot I could imagine what they would've been like...:sad:

It was well depressing! And it made me feel really annoyed, like, there are enough problems in the world, why add to it in such a way?

Oh and no we weren't told about it in school I don't think. We were for the London 7/7 bombs though - some of my friends heard it on the radio in Textiles, and everyone went mental - especially me, because my dad was in London!

Surprisingly, the London 7/7 wasn't huge news over here.

I remember that my mom was in London on vacation with one of her friends on that day. :sad:

I had just finished school and on the way home I went into a filling station and everyone was watching the tv.. I didn't really take much of it untill I came home and saw the whole thing .

I just remembered that it was September 12 here when it happened

Because I work in the travel industry, I remember it having a massive effect at work. On the day itself Iwas driving to have my car fixed, and it was on the news in the garage, and thats where I saw one plane go into the wtc. Next day at work, we were so quiet, took ages to pick up again. It was terrible and I dont think they'll ever get over it, was such a huge attack. :sad:

I remember on the day of 9/11 I went to meet my bloke for lunch in his work's canteen and I saw the pictures of it on the news as they had the TV on in there.

i had been in school all day, saw it on the news when i got home i was only 10 at the time though.

I got home from School and my Mum showed me it on TV.

I went to New York last year and visited Ground Zero (where the Twin Towers once stood), the atmosphere there is so weird, but expected of course. Although because it's New York there's noise everywhere there's this weird silence. And over the road there's a Fire Station that has a display of damaged walkie talkies and helmets used by Fire Men who went into the buildings.

I don't really remember much about it, just my mum and dad talking about it and stuff, I was only about 8 and really didn't understand what was going on - now I do, and obviously for the London bombings (7/7) I did as well ... everyone in my class went mental, we spent all our third period watching the news, people were crying and ringing their parents to check they were ok, my friend's dad was in the train afterwards ... ugh THAT was horrible. Not that 9/11 wasn't! 9/11 was way worse - but it's just 7/7 in London effected me more.

I was on my way home from school on the bus and heard these men talking about planes crashing in NY but didn't really take much notice at the time. Then when I got home my dad was there and showed me it on the news. I just remember sitting and watching for what must have been hours I couldn't believe it.

They were showing news stories of it and I didn't know and all I hear is that "New York gets hit by a plane" and I thought "Oh god, not again!"

Has anyone seen Fahrenheit 9/11? That made me think about heaps of stuff

I had just come home from school to switch on the TV and see it all happening, it was truly shocking thats for sure, watching those people jumping out windows made me feel so upset, the day will be remembered for many years.

I was watching the news as they were speculating on what it was all about, and then the second plane came in and sadly it was then obvious.
It was the most shocking thing i have ever seen, and I have been around a while!! What a total massacre of good decent people, I am still v. sad about it and feel upset for so so many families.

I was at home all day with my 2 children. My youngest was just a baby at the time, and I hadn't been out that day at all. The TV was on, but it was the kids channels mostly, and I hadn't really been watching anyway. My husband was at work, and he came home around 8pm and said "put the news channel on.. the WTC has been attacked".

I put the channel on, and stood fixated. I felt like I was watching "Independance Day" or some big-budget SPFX movie. I couldn't believe it. The images I seen sent shivers up and down my spine, and even now, 5 years on, I find it moving to watch. Nobody I knew personally was affected by it, but I just find an attack on this scale so hard to take in.

I watched the documentary about the falling man, and found it fascinating and incredibly tragic. You can't imagine what went through the minds of those who jumped. I watched some of the news coverage yesterday. The fact that it took 3 and a half hours to read out the names of the dead is quite remarkable. I don't think US citizens will ever get over it to be honest. I hope it's the biggest disaster in my lifetime. I hope there is never another on this scale.

Fahrenheit 9/11 is on tonight. I might watch it.
