To hear some of you tell it, a good upbringing is worthless because it has no bearing on how a person will behave later in life.

It's hilarious how ignorant some of you are in your pretentions of being enlightened.

It's fairly obvious just watching how he acts.

His misogynistic streak is a big tell, misogyny can often be linked to mother issues, it's not the only cause but it's a probable one. Secondly, the immaturity, an immature adult is a surefire sign that something was lacking during their upbringing. He acts like a child because he doesn't know how to act like an adult. Distant or overprotective parents, both as damaging as each other.

The point is that the person's upbringing doesn't always decide how they will turn out. It's not as simple as "person shows disrespect = bad upbringing". Sure, many times the upbringing does effect this stuff, but not all the time. That's what people are saying.

Nobody said that renders a good upbringing worthless.

As for "ignorant", slamming someone's parents while knowing nothing of the facts regarding their upbringing isn't ignorant then?

Well if Marlon is classed as being 'dragged' up the same must go for Toya,who has belittled,shouted,and humiliated people,so her parents didn't do a great job on her either

This is a debate that has gone on long in Psychology. So it's nothing new, many people believe that people's behaviour has a massive correlation with how they were raised.


I'm not condoning what Toya said, but I genuinely believe that Toya said this in regards to him being so incapable to be brought up correctly because of issues within himself, his parents had to drag him up.

Toya been brilliant on the show in the last few episodes but her treatment of Marlon since Day 1 has been awful. He's probably a decent guy under all the bulls**t but the way she talks about him is doing her no favors on eviction week.

Every time I see this thread I expect to see Marlon dressed in drag.

If I acted how Toya is acting my parents would be abit off put by my behaviour, but if I was to sit on tv and call a woman the C word and a bitch every 4 seconds they wold be repulsed.

..tbf though, we're all guilty of that to a degree or most of us..(I think I've only ever seen a few people posting who I would personally say are totally 'fair' with their views..) and look at things completely objectively regardless of their favourites...and not just in this BB either...probably also in real life because we 'judge' each situation separately and see differences in them etc...(actually I've lost my train of thought ..:laugh:..)..
