It's not okay and it won't be okay but on the plus side it's forced everyone else in the family to finally speak up and speak to one another and establish some facts and basically all just break out of our fear of her and put some things right, so it's not all bad

:( well at least something positive has come from whatever it is that's happened for you, nothing worse than feeling like you can't speak up

It's not anger, it's just a statement of fact. I've not raised my voice or shed a tear over anything that's happened, it's just that I can't take it anymore.

Yeah, obviously I don't know what's happened but I can see where you're coming from, does it feel better for you now that it has?

It won't get better. Things can change and time moves on but it'll never get better. The problem is her and it won't change because she won't recognise that she is the problem.

Sounds familiar to be honest. My mum was the same with my Grandma, their relationship always suffered because my Grandma refused to recognise her own problems that were obvious to everyone else.

Yeah. You can't make someone change, they have to change on their own terms; and if they refuse to change then your options are to put up with it or get out of there. I choose the latter. I'm done with it.

Yeah I've gone through similar with my own mum so when she passed away my grief was mixed with guilt so I completely get where you're coming from Marshmellow

Jessica. 19-07-2014 06:03 PM

Greg, I'm in the exact same situation, my mother has been tearing the family apart for my whole life and it's only now that I'm not letting her involve me any more, it's tough to stand up to her but I really need to do it or I will genuinely not be responsible for my actions.

Glenn. 19-07-2014 06:10 PM

Evening

Jessica. 19-07-2014 06:11 PM
