BOTS- 800k (11%). Higher share than the launch night of last summer. Hoping we get the Live rating.

Meh, okay I guess

Cal. 19-08-2014 09:57 AM

Everything's cool as long as Dee's getting thinner.

Will. 19-08-2014 10:13 AM

decent, wasn't much promotion really, but I think it will climb with this great bunch of housemates :cheer2:

9pm slot in full with +1:

BBC1- New Tricks- 5.79m
BBC2- Horizon- 1.83m
ITV- Long Lost Family- 3.86m
CH4- Royal Marines Commando School- 1.68m
CH5- Celebrity Big Brother- 2.36m
Sky1- The 100- 933k

Not bad at all considering everything was down. NT down by almost 2m, LLF down by around 800k.

Pretty Impressive all things considered. Strong share and third in its slot. BOTS held up nicely too.. wonder if live feed faired even better.. because I loved it! The rating is near par with what i expected but it's strong for a show in its 14th series.. and one that feels the need to reinvent itself twice a year! Even more impressive considering all 33 series of BBC have aired over 15 years.. showing little sign of BBC fatigue! Can't wait for the rest of the series. Loved this launch so much I'm going to watch it again later!

CBB will do better than BB in the ratings. Don't really watch the normal BB anymore, only watch CBB nowadays and i assume a few others do the same too, so an increase in ratings is inevitable imo.

I agree, some people in my family were watching new tricks! Whilst I was going on CBB launch they were saying new tricks starts tonight. I think the show always reinvents itself, it looks and feels different every series!

I know a lot that do that! But BB is always good, well maybe not BB 15!

Why? I don't see why people just watch CBB

Pete. 19-08-2014 10:49 AM

That's a good rating - 3rd out of the 5 channels

I know. Loads of people who were asking me why I was watching Big Brother are the same people talking on Facebook/tweeting about Celebrity Big Brother.

Decent. :D

daniel-lewis-1985 19-08-2014 11:55 AM

Its a decent rating higher than I expected due to the flop of BB15. Climbing 800k is pretty impressive.

The launch was so good it deserved more but it did start and end at a weird time and was on forever lol will be interesting to see the retention for tonights first highlights.

Anyone got the live feed rating?

C5 hiding them maybe

*mazedsalv** 19-08-2014 12:16 PM

Tonight I reckon it will drop to 1.8m.

Basically, to avoid it being the lowest rated, we need it to get around 1.9m overnights nighty (2.2m official was the lowest and goes to CBB10, 2.3m official for CBB12).

daniel-lewis-1985 19-08-2014 12:30 PM

Tellymix and other news sites are reporting how poor the rating is ffs cant they see its a massive climb from the BB15 finale.

Do you have the officials including +1 for last weeks BB15?

All I could find were the ones without and they are depressing I think 1 highlight show hit over 1.5 the rest were below and the week averaged dropped by 100k to 1.40.

Nope, not yet. I asked for them, but yes I saw them and felt like I should wait until the +1 were released as they were quite bad!!

On CBB front though, it peaked at 2.7m, the not so high peak means that there was not a lot of people switching off which is good, but also not huge amounts tuning in either.

Apparently it built steadily throughout the show and that 2.7m peak was towards the end of the show, maybe Gary's entry?

I hope the help of all those trends on twitter.. something like 8/10 local and 4/10 worldwide will provoke people into switching on. I also think the minor blips with Gary entering will have got people talking not to mention the twist! So I hope tonight's will be around the 1.9 mark.. though guessing ratings for this show is like guessing when you're going to die! So unpredictable! Excellent peak rating compared with competition plus a lit of what was on was very broad in terms of viewable audience types. X BBC perhaps had theyyoungest in its slot.. bodes well for the future and for advertisers too! Can't wait for tonight's episode!
