Do you have a source for the bit in bold?

He is being judged on his attitude towards other people and how he treats other people, he can't help his disabilities, but that doesn't give him an automatic pass to be a douche nugget.

In what way does he behave badly? I have never seen him put a foot wrong.

James is such a little twat. He makes my blood boil. I loved how he started to crawl to Audley when BB revealed he & Stephanie's conversation about him. He is totally afraid of him.
I wish Gary would get up & smack him in his horrible little face

LOL the trouble is then people will say there, Gary is now showing his true colours. He wont win regardless and tbh I do not think anyone will risk not being part of the fold and stand up for him. Gary was at his best when he was secluded with three others in the rubbish dump. Even Kellie was talking to him and standing up for him against Dee but, as soon as he was out he went back to the fold and began to join in. He should be careful really as he to needs a lot of understanding.

There is a conversation on line of three, George, James and Kellie chatting, talk about interrupting each other, they just kept on talking over each other!! It is a shame they dont take a lesson out of their own criticisms of Gary, at least he has a plausible excuse which they should at least try and undestand.

On another note, have we ever heard James stand up for Gary in a genuine way? He declared to him in the live feed that he had actually risked it as everyone was against G. Little does he know the tide is turning. I am waiting for it to turn on Dee.

Of course you haven't, because he's bullied and he's the eternal victim right?
I'm not going to list every single thing he's done wrong, because even if i do, people are going to make excuses for him, so whats the point?

On the forum he's being judged for his behaviour, but in the house I believe he's being judged on his disabilities at times. It just showed in David's interview when he was mad that he had to repeat himself to Gary, and in some weird way claimed his deafness was manipulative? Didn't get it.

Stop! You'll give us Gary fans a bad name!:tongue:
He does put a foot wrong sometimes just like everybody else on this earth. He's only human! He still doesn't deserve the way he's treated by some hms though.

Definitely not (mind you I do not undetstand what a douche nugget is) but it does determine the need for empathy, understanding and patience. It isnt Gary I feel sorry for tbh as if he comes out he will be able to hold his head high knowing that he has been himself and hasnt run anyone down. He hasnt bitched or been nasty. It is the rest of them that I truly do feel sorry for. With time comes age and they ned to consider their future. As I see it it will all fall down on them ......... and the walls came tumbling down!!

As per usual spot on ,I dont give a flying one about his disability I do give one on his actions though, he's not helped at all in the house ,sat there to be waited on ,tried to get out of being on the scrap heap by throwing the disabled card ,cannot even be bothered to shower and change his clothes

Yeah i do believe that they could be a bit more patient with him when it comes to his hearing, but i do think that David is right in the case that Gary plays up to his disabilities a little bit to wind people up, because he does seem like a bit of a wind up merchant, so if he is doing that then i can easily see why so many people get frustrated with him

That behaviour is caused by his disability. People with brain injuries often forget to do things like shower.

You are just condoning the bullying of a disabled person for his disabilities. I hope you are just trying to be controversial and don't really mean it.

Yeah I still can't decide whether I think he plays it up or not! But he did seem a bit of a wind up merchant when he would smirk at Leslie while he was going mad at him  that would p**s me right off!

We only have the others words that he doesnt change his clothes and that he doesnt shower. He may just wash, that is just as refreshing, he obviously shaves. Can you honestly see them letting him help in the kitchen, the kitchen belongs to those who like to put themselves forward for protection.

That is the only place that they seem to congregate and as soon as Gary appears they tend to walk away.........Now as regards the scrap heap as we have said before many HMs have been allowed not to take part in things because of health reasons. All he asked for was that he didnt have to sleep out there. Other than that he fitted in and enjoyed it. Whilst we are on the subjec what about one or two of the others who had a hissey fit?

No it isn't.

The point is that I have watched everything we have been given to watch. All the highlights, live feed etc and I have never seen him put a foot wrong.

So my question to the other poster was what have they seen him do.

ThriceShy 28-08-2014 01:07 PM

All the people who keep embarrassing themselves with talk of Gary not showering, could you please read this factsheet on the effects of acquired brain injury:

http://synapse.org.au/get-the-facts/...act-sheet.aspx

In particular look at this bit:

If the problem is severe they may need prompting just to have a shower and get dressed or to participate in a conversation.
Sounds exactly like Gary doesn't it? And he just happens to have an acquired brain injury.

Stop condoning the bullying of someone due to their disability. It might seem like a fun way to troll but it is actually just vile.

I'm surprised that website exists since brain injury can be soooooo varied. If the brain damage was in his visual areas for example (which I doubt it is), that would have no effect on his memory or motivation to shower. Not sure if we can attribute Gary's behaviour to his brain injury, but it could be a factor I suppose.

No-one is condoning anything, as you rightly said in a different thread, everyone is entitled to their own opinion, so please get off your high horse and stop trying to make other people feel bad for their opinion, that isn't nice to see.

All you have to do is take a look at him before the brain problems.

That man has had a severe brain trauma when he came off his motorbike but he also had tumours and had to have 2 brain operations to have them removed. All of his behaviour is attributable to it.

Stop and think what you are posting. Saying things like "Helen is so nice" or "Rachel Rice was dead exciting" are fun ways to troll. Condoning the mass bullying of a man due to his disability isn't.

Hahahaha have you EVER seen me post that I condone bullying of a disabled person?! In my last post, did I mention anything about how he is treated? No. I just said we can't guarantee that him not showering is attributable to his disorder. I also didn't say it was justified how they are treating him regardless of whether he had a disability or not. Some of his behaviour is due to hearing disability and the hms are very intolerant of him because of it, it's awful.

Just because someone doesn't agree with you about one little thing doesn't mean they completely disagree with you and therefore "condone bullying". It isn't all black and white like that.

Look, it is no skin off my nose either way. I can't lose in this. I support gary and it looks very much like he will win, or at least do better than the main bullies.

What I am trying to do is help you. Some people don't realise how their words can be perceived. If people tried to help gary in that way then there might not be such a problem.

:laugh2::laugh2: sounds like you're trying to help me in the same way that James tries to help Gary - talking down to people, lecturing without really listening to what the other person is saying. I also support Gary, he's my favourite, but don't see the need to whip out vague websites on random symptoms of brain damage to justify my support.

Livia 28-08-2014 02:11 PM

Gary's not prefect, not by a long chalk. But I've yet to hear him bitch behind someone's back, raise his voice, raise his hand, cut someone's clothes up, ruin food, question the skills that people are famous for (like they all did about his acting skills), jump around and keep people awake/wake them up or piss in the pool like a filthy pig. And yet... he's the one being treated like an outcast.

Their general attitude toward his disbilities seem to be the same as David, who said, "Yes, I know he's deaf, but come on... you sometimes have to say things THREE TIMES!" They're ignorant halfwits, and that's the intelligent ones. Most of them wouldn't attain the dizzy height of halfwit if they had twice the wit they have now.
