I couldnt think of a worser decision.

Marsh. 07-09-2014 02:53 PM

I can understand people eating certain foods because they agree or don't agree with certain methods of animals being killed/tortured.

But becoming a vegetarian on the basis of "saving a cow's life" is a bit baffling to me. They're still killed and we still eat them as we should. There's a food chain for a reason.

I'm not officially a vegetarian but I rarely eat meat these days, there isn't much of it that I like.

Yeah I don't agree with them being slaughtered in slaughter houses, problem?

I never said I had a problem.

I just said I understand people choosing their food based on the "method" that the meat is taken but outside of that doing it to "save a cow's life" sounds kind of naive.

Why are people getting caught up in the statistics of how much bovine life your saving? People not liking the idea of dead animals not wanting to eat ... dead animals.

Jesus wept. It's not that hard a nut to crack as a lifestyle choice, is it? People being complicit with all the bad things happening in the world just because they're going to happen anyway is a bit of a **** caveat, no?

Meat Eaters apparently.

Meat is in: most fast foods, your average Sunday dinners, Christmas dinners, chocolate, crisps, Coca Cola, sandwiches for lunch, normal night tea's... it all begins to add up.

You eat (or should eat) 1095 meals a year plus snacks, I'd say a large portion of them meals and snacks contain meat.

I still eat a lot of veggie stuff cos it is tasty and cheaper but I've opened myself up to all these new food possibilities and it's definitely made me happier. :)

Thanks LJ,I was just curious.wondered if it was health reasons.

Cal. 07-09-2014 06:06 PM

Oh and just to be clear, I gave up meat because of slaughter houses. Like Kazanne's signature (and Paul McArtney) says 'If slaughterhouses had glass walls, most people would be vegetarian.'

Well I'm not the pinnacle of health anyway :joker: but I never had problems with iron/protein etc

I could never go vegan though. Dairy

now, hope I can stick it at it this time!

An article advised me to not dive in and cut meats gradually, but I have done and I'm enjoying feeling like I'm making a difference.

I'll be keeping people updated in my TiBB blog, and will be posting some tips/vegetarian recipes there too for any members who may want to try it.

It's a shame that you didn't put any recipe's up
