Fortunately UKIP will not be able to win the 2015 election, even today Nigel Farage has indicated they are targetting particularly around 40 seats, it may well be if their support got stronger that they could take a fair number those seats up to that point.

However, it will be a Labour led or Conservative led coalition in Govt, depending on just how the votes go and who just scrapes in where as to seats.

I can almost see my worst possible nightmare of a coalition now in 2015, any Conservative led one would be a kick in the teeth for the most vulnerable in the UK but a Conservative led govt propped up by UKIP, would for me be the most dangerous, prejudiced and unjust govt. the UK has likely had.

My hope is that Labour will win enough seats to be the largest party and that the SNP will have the seats to ensure that govts stability.
Nicola Sturgeon, good on her too, has said a deal with Labour could be done, the SNP do not want the UK leaving the EU.
She has also said the SNP under her leadership will never support a Conservative led govt.
So that is the scenario I hope for and that the Conservatives and UKIP with their hidden agendas and underlying nastiness can then just fiddle about in opposition.

That would be truly toxic, if that happens democracy and the UK as we know it is finished.

:joker:I think I would consider heading over to the States to spend loads of time with my Aunt in Los Angeles and also visit other parts of the world for 5 years until they were out.

Do you think it possible we could ever have a coalition of the major parties ie Lab- Con or will that never happen ??

Kizzy 22-11-2014 07:44 AM

Well I would never have expected a con/lib alliance so who knows, but I doubt it.

No, except in extreme national disaster times such as war as in the 2nd world war and also in the 30s during the depression.

Ironically, within those 2 parties there are a likely majority of MPs who could actually work well and strongly togethe.
Through that concensus between them, they could really bring fair and good policies for all the country and be a really good Govt.

Sadly the party machine system wouldn't nurture that.

Niall 22-11-2014 09:47 AM

Why does this country always vote stupidly

Yeah, Joey, it is sad. I agree, that, no matter how poorly any of the parties actually perform, or whether we agree with their manifesto or not, there are always one or two, very sincere, very erudite, very capable individuals among them. How shrewd would it be to bring all these individuals together under one umbrella for the sake of Britain?

Well, we can dream can't we?
