Poor guy. I'm still not a fan of him but what an awful thing to happen.

I love that he hasn't played on it to get votes.

I'm hoping he will open up to Nick eventually. They seem to get on well.

Nick seems to be the only one who gets Christian.

I don't have anything against the guy, he has grown on me a bit since the opening day or 2. I think his insecurities relate to his position currently hiding in the closet

Yeah. I found it very telling, when he was the only one sticking up for him last night.

Anyone know what newspaper wrote about him and which girl he was taking about when he mentioned not having enough money to keep up with her?

She plays Sinead from Hollyoaks.

I was taken by his breakdown in the diary room.. I felt that he had a vulnerability and past issues that we're going to surface...and that now makes sense.
So often good looking characters have little personality...but he seems so fragile in many ways.
He hasn't given anyone a clue to what he has been through...he hasn't used this as a 'sympathy vote'....and for that he has gone up in my estimations.
Fair play to him.....and I hope this works for him and that he finds himself in the house. I think he is desperate to be accepted but he needs to drop his guard and just be himself.

still don't like him, if he stops pretending he's a celeb and is less arrogant and cocky, I might like him.

Very sad past though.

Very surprised this was not mentioned at all on his VT or by the press before, but this is on this site.

http://cristianmjc.com/biography/

Born in Blackburn England with a benign tumour on the left side of his head, he was raised in the village of Mellor near Blackburn. At the age of 3, he suffered from a rare disease known as Kawasaki’s Syndrome, which can be fatal. This caused total deafness in his left ear, which led to numerous hospital admissions and outpatient appointments.

The removal of the tumour left Cristian MJC with a large scar and combined with his deafness created problems with classmates and teachers who didn’t understand his deafness properly. This lead to him attending 4 primary schools in total.

After witnessing the death of both his maternal grandparents, and the effects ‘Meningitis’ had on his father, he became sure he wanted to study medicine and become a doctor. What fascinated him, was possessing the ability to alleviate the pain suffered by many, through his own personal skills.

People online were laughing at his breakdown and a few posters said (on DS) "Oh yeah, I'm sure you had a tough life". Never judge anyone. You don't know what someone has gone through. You can't assume someone has had an easy life based on how they act, they look etc...

..I can completely understand that he wouldn't have mentioned it, I had something similar in that I had a benign brain tumour..as an adult though not as a child and also have some difficulties in fully hearing with the surgeries...I don't think it's something that you ever want to define you in any way because it was never something that you had control/choice over..it's not like...oh I did this and I did that and aren't I a lovely person so please don't evict me because these things just happen to you..and it's often a lose/lose thing anyway and probably for him and how he feels in that without saying it then the public would view him on 'surface' and he may seem vain etc and quite shallow..and if he did say these things about his past, it would be ..sob story...people will judge anyway and especially on BB because that's what it's meant to be and I think even with the 'sad' stuff/sad stories/pasts etc...although he's had some grim and sad times..?..he probably also doesn't want it to define him in a 'sympathy' way either because it's kind of the 'worst/most negative' things in our lives that can in a way become the most positive because of what you take from them so doesn't want to be thought of as 'poor guy' ..and one of the things that I've thought with him is that already in conversations he's asked other housemates about themselves and seemed genuinely interested in them and their lives and maybe in their pasts/their stories as well and many housemates just want to talk about themselves more than learn about the others so I think he's far from a 'shallow' person but maybe if he hadn't experienced these things in his life, then maybe that's what he would be more..?....so he probably doesn't see it as having a sad story at all...

Gusto Brunt 17-05-2015 10:15 AM

I don't understand the 'hate' for Cristian.

He's a good looking man, and probably get better looking as he ages.

He seems a nice guy. Not big-headed at all. AND extremely shy.
