Agreed. Though they did listen in regards to bringing back the live feed in some form for BB11

Did they? Nope. Remember the biggest nail in the coffin. A quad eviction to evict vote.

That really did seem like a final up yours to the viewers imo. Phil Edgar Jones, the producer, was posting on Digital Spy during that series but stopped because he became so infuriated with the constant complaints.

They meddled with noms/twists too. They put Nikki back in and didn't care about the backlash. They did their fair share of wrong doings too.

I trace the beginning of the decline a bit further back. The house next door was totally unnecessary during that series, which was doing extremely well with the characters they had until that twist. Jayne being punished by putting everyone but her up, ensuring Nikki would be evicted (people forget all of this in regards to Nikki) and them losing their most talked about HM that year. The ratings declined, they stupidly did what they had done previously with Jon Tickle only this time allowed that person the chance to win. And then the real killer, their completely inept response to Jade Goody and her familly and cronies during the following CBB. It went from bad to worse after that when they decided it would be a good idea to start BB8 with no men, and not put all of them in until week 3, by which point people had already given up. BB never recovered on Channel 4, and the hope was that Channel 5 would allow it to. They got people's hopes up with the talk of the return of the red button live service and then failed to deliver and have continued to do so ever since.
It's been a shockingly badly produced show since Big Brother 7 with a couple of exceptions (Celebrity series and maybe BB9 and BB14), truth be known. And the ratings reflect that.
