I was in such a foul mood with the show yesterday before the highlights even started just reading about all the rows Marc had started in less than 24 hours. Think I described it all as fake, manufactured, forced drama and that Marc must just be a producers puppet chosen specifically for the sole purpose of starting fights and that is the sole reason he got picked for house etc etc. I was on quite a rant...
I still think the above is true, however after actually seeing each of these arguments Marc doesn't come across as intimidating or scary bully as I pictured him, it seemed much worse in the written word than when I actually saw him. The tone of voice, smiles, and demeanour make a big difference to the way I pictured him being.
I still think BB producers may have prepped the new housemates in some way and specifically told them to start crap in there and Marc does seem like he was determined to go in there and annoy certain people, but I'm also getting the impression that he might not be entirely acting that he is just really that type of person who rubs everyone up the wrong way and finds it funny to do so. I'm trying to now keep in mind that the new housemates have just got there AND they are late entries so need to make a big impression so I shouldn't really be surprised that some of them will be working very hard to make that impression! And I suppose it's not just Marc, they're all doing it just using different tactics.
Simon and Sam seem to be emphasizing that they are so much more 'fun' than the originals and that the originals are 'boring', Harry is emphasizing erm......... her tits, Marc is emphasizing his ability to annoy people and cause a stir etc.
I'm still bitter about losing my favourite housemates tbh, and I know after all my complaining yesterday about this twist and Marc, and BB's meddling that I will now sound like a MASSIVE hypocrite, and I hate to admit it but I did find last night's show ok.:hehe:
I wanted to hate Marc from what I'd read, but I don't think he's had too much of a negative impact really. Got to see a bit of Chloe's fiery side which I like and for the first time in awhile I really really enjoyed Jade last night too! I found the whole relationship between her and Marc hilarious, she upped her cringeworthy behaviour by about 100x but it just worked and I found myself laughing at the interaction between the pair. I especially loved their conversation in the bedroom where Jade was trying to remain serious and describe how to protect herself she had to become this new version of Jade and Marc without missing a beat said " yeah, that's dickhead Jade" and "only for I'm not allowed I would throw this toothbrush at you!"
Just reading this it would sound like he was ultra aggressive and picking on Jade, but watching it, Jade couldn't stop smiling and was telling him to stop making her laugh. It was very amusing.
As long as it doesn't switch into something nasty and he doesn't start bullying, I think I will really enjoy watching these two wind each other up, bicker and make each other laugh with their bickering. Jade seems well able for him too which was good to see. The pose she had waiting for him outside the diaryroom, the "don't dip your toes in this pool" comment, wtf? :laugh2: so cringey but very funny and I enjoyed her as a housemate last night.
I didn't like the way he was towards Chloe, the asking "did it hurt" when she said she was thinking, the comment about his semen entering her :yuk: , the STD test etc. I would have gotten just as angry as Chloe in her situation if some dude I'd literally just met was behaving like that towards me. I don't think you should have type of "banter" with somebody you don't know. I think he knows that now though and after Chloe's explosion and BB talk he hopefully won't make the same mistake again.
I think I would hate to live with him, I would have so many arguments with him, because he is a complete wind up merchant for sure, but so far at least he hasn't made for bad viewing. (even if it is forced drama on BB's part)
I suppose we've only seen 1 night of him so far though so will wait to see if he continues like this, worsens, or settles down. I would still definitely prefer to Have Kieran, Sarah and the Twins there instead of the new housemates but that's not going to happen so will just try to enjoy what it is for now. (I hate that I feel like such a hypocrite for complaining about forced drama but actually finding it entertaining last night, sorry.:blush: )
