It doesn't matter whether he brought it on or started it or not. If someone, and this goes for anyone, is sitting shaking, about to cry and is visibly uncomfortable and saying NOTHING, and you continue to mock them and antagonise them, you are bullying them. Had Brian been shouting back at that particular moment, it would have been an equally weighted confrontation where someone stood up for themselves. But in that one particular instance he wasn't, and if you're going at someone who isn't standing up for themselves (especially when they're clearly showing signs of weakness) you are bullying them.

What part of this some people are failing to understand is beyond me. Who started what is irrelevant.

It's not just nasty comments , what Helen did to Jale was the same she isolated her from the group and then got the whole group to laugh and ridicule the poor girl.
Helen is really nice to some people and uses a common enemy type approach to gang up on an individual, this time though it hasn't been so successful because the originals had an alliance of sorts already of which Danny seems to be the leader and he won't get on board and has told her he doesn't agree with how she behaves.So she is losing her power and control which is why I guess she got upset/angry.

I totally agree with you but confess to liking Helen. Who has she bullied? Nobody as far as I can see as well. Brian and Nikki are somehow obsessed and eaten up by their hatred of her and Marc. So if they say Helen and Marc are bullies then everyone seems to believe them I don't and many other don't either it seems.

I have never up to now used the word bully in these forums and have said on many threads that it is used far too often for non bullying incidents often to demote someones least favourite housemate and promote their favourite.

Helen didn't physically bully Brian but she DID verbally BULLY him by saying those hateful things about how he looked. I was verbally bullied at work and had to leave last year and it was all very sly and sneaky but hurt me more than anything ever did. I was physically bullied when I was little but thank God I became strong because of it.

Even if I hated Brian I would know that what Helen said and did to him was totally wrong. Yes it was verbal bullying no doubt about it and Brian couldn't take it anymore. Helen up to now wasn't a bully in my eyes even though I really didn't like her last year. She DID verbally bully Brian

Even aside from calling Brian a rapist and a murderer Helen has always been a huge bully. Her entire MO is excluding others, hurling out vicious insults, and public humiliation all under the guise of "telling it how it is" and "being honest" and when people naturally get upset with her she just blames it on them taking everything too personally.

Nikki wasn't above slagging off Jack and Harry in the room with Helen before they went into the main house. She said some pretty nasty things about a dew HM's in that room along with Helen.

She also bullied Jack by tricking him with the twitter thing and found it funny. Nikki's quite a cow when she wants to be and she bullied Susie in BB7 too with her "who is sheeeeee", rubbish.

..I wonder if someone spoke to Helen's child or someone she cared for a lot/another member of her family etc with the 'honesty and truth' that she speaks to people and her thoughtless cruel way she throws around things like 'murderer/rapist look'...etc...would she actually realise there are boundaries that go beyond anything acceptable...and then when she does it, those people...ughhh, they're just wimps aren't they for being upset or 'false and playing a victim' or aggressive if it provokes anger...would she actually reflect upon herself in her behaviour...

You're right, bitching doesn't have to be bullying, though it can be.

The thing about bullying is, it can happen in so many different ways and so is often hard to identify. Take a group of people like the BB HM's and observe their reaction to a single person. If a large percentage of that group appear to be intimidated by one individual, then the chances are, that individual is a bully. Chloe (who is clearly terrified of her), Nikki, Sam, Jack and Harry are intimidated by Helen...I don't think Brian was but he could see how she was unnerving other members in the house and that really upset him. Brian is a sensitive soul towards others but I don't for a moment feel he was being bullied...he was just emotionally frustrated.

Helen uses indirect bullying tactics by creating a power imbalance in the house. From the moment she entered the house she put herself in a position of power by openly belittling Harry and deliberately leaving her out. She had already teamed up with Marc who is very similar to herself and between the two of them they continued to treat certain people in a negative passive aggressive way. Both Marc and Helen have continually tag-team recruits by suggesting to other HM's (who feel intimidated by her) not to be friends with certain people.

That would be seen by any psychiatrist/psychologist as a form of bullying.

Helen making comments it not all she has done. She obliousoy isolated Jale last year, and tried with Brian last year but failed. She is a bully, it's not an option anymore, it's clearly a fact that Helen has bullied people therefor making her a bully. The depth some fans will go to defend her is ridiculous, all your doing is stating times she hasn't bullied people.
Like saying she didnt bully nicki. Corrrect, but that dosent mean she's not a Bully. And if you didn't watch last year then by no means can you say she's not a bully.
