-   -   Should Emma Be Fired for Being an Impartial Host? (https://www.thisisbigbrother.com/forums/showthread.php?t=282551)

What do people want, a robot? She's only human, of course she reacted negatively to Helen. Can't blame her for that.
I'm not really a fan of Emma but she certainly shouldn't be fired for impartiality. She's not there to flatter the HM's ego's. And if the alternative is Rylan then this question is null and void really lol

What you say in your first sentence, actually means... Impartial. Mayhap the question should have been, Should Emma Be Fired For NOT Being an impartial Host... No, would be my O. This is BB...Almost

 No Emma shouldn't be sacked.
Davina McCall showed bias almost every day that she hosted BB. So much so that the Broadcasting regulator got involved and she of the snarling curling lip never got the sack . So no Emma is just following trend.

You are right as to that and Davina too, her last few series interviews got awful to watch too.

Pretty much this.

cookiemonster 26-06-2015 10:25 PM

no she's great

Northern Monkey 26-06-2015 10:27 PM

No!!!This is blasphemy!!!

Good presenter but terrible interviewer. She was awful tonight.

BENDERBOY 26-06-2015 10:43 PM

She wimped out on calling Helen out on her bullying.

jegmeister 26-06-2015 11:09 PM

She wasn't biased so the premise of your question is wrong.

In fact, she was very restrained. She was very professional with her but challenged her strongly on her disgraceful behaviour as a good interviewer should. She also called her out on "honest Helen's" lies ie that Nikki is fake. She may be many things but that's one thing that Nikki definitely isn't.

I do find it extraordinary that anyone would think there was anything whatsoever that was biased in that interview. And I speak as someone who has been very critical of Emma in the past. She has been biased sometimes. Definitely not tonight. I thought it was one of the best interviews she's ever done.

She deserved it, I would usually agree that all housemates deserve to be treated fairly in their interviews (which actually to be honest, Helen was) but when they've bullied someone the interview is naturally going to be harsh so that they can get to the bottom of what happened. Would people have been happy for Jade to receive a warm welcome by Davina and Dermot upon her exit 8 years ago? No, I don't think so. If you act like a ****, be prepared to be called out on it and rightly so. She overstepped the mark and faced the repercussions in her interviews.

Two side notes:

1) I don't get the issue with presenters being 'biased' anyway, I want to know what their options are (especially if they're fans of the show like Emma). Anyone that gets their opinions from a presenter of a show is a moron, I'm pretty sure that's few and far between

2) People also forget that the producers set the tone and structure of the interview, so abusing Emma is futile.

They don't own her Twitter though, and she's shown her colours there.

It was pathetic I thought. I didn't realise they could show rimming live on TV at that hour of the night.

And? She can say whatever she wants on her own Twitter, and rightly so. I want to know what she's thinking as she's a Big Brother fan. Once again, anyone that gets their opinions from the host of a show is a moron, and I'm pretty sure no one does...so what's the issue?

Also I checked Emma's Twitter last night and unless she's tweeted something differently since then the only potentially biased things I've seen was a direct tweet to Brian (not posted publicly with his handle mid-tweet, but at the start) saying to 'keep your head up' and maybe some tweets about how the show has been hard to watch, which it has. Don't see the problem.

And one to Nikki tonight.

The point is you can't say the producers are steering it if her interview style matches her personal opinion.

Simon got pulled up on the stuff he did. Helen got pulled up. Nikki wasn't a saint in the house, she could have been pulled up.

The excuse of "everyone knows Nikki is a nutter" doesn't wash with me. Couldn't people just say £everyone knows Helen is a bitch" and excuse her behaviour?

Nikki is a priveleged child, and hasn't changed a day since she was 12 years old I imagine....... except for the sunbed.
