I don't think chloe realises that, outside doncaster, getting a huge loan with awful interest rates to buy an estate ****hole isn't the ambition most people have.

I can't believe how much of a massive deal you're making of this, she didn't say it was her "ambition in life", the only point she was making was that there are achievements in life other than getting an education, and she has had her own. Marc's comment was made to belittle those (particularly Danny) who haven't got an education like he does, and she was trying to justify why she thinks that's stupid.

Dunno why you see the need to compare it with Mark's career. I'm working towards becoming a scientist, yet I'm sitting here in a tiny box room in a shared student flat  A mortgage is looking like a pretty great achievement to me (and probably any other wannabe scientist) right now!

So you disagree with me. That is fine. It is what a discussion forum is all about. I welcome views that oppose mine as well as agree with me.

Chloe said this while having a pop at marc for something he said in an argument that had nothing to do with her.

It was all designed to upstage marc and his education. But it looked a bit pitiful really.

Marc never even mentioned her. Yet she has to start bragging about something that most people take for granted.

And I don't believe for a second that she paid for the deposit herself. Where would she obtain circa 20 grand at that age?

Either her drug dealer dad paid for it or she is on one of these government schemes where the deposit is paid for you.

You're going on like getting a mortgage is no achievement, then in this post suggest that raising the money for a deposit is unachievable  make your mind up!

Where did I say it was no achievement?

Thanks for bumping my horrid thread.

The thread came about because chloe was having a pop at marc and downplaying his educational achievement.

She, or her fans, can't complain if I downplay hers.

Not a fan of Chloe but you're being a hypocrite if you are trying to belittle her for what you call belitteling him.

If you think Chloe is awful for it why repeat what you're saying she did?

Omfg what relevance has this got to the topic? It's disgusting how people keep dragging this up

Chloe & Aisleyne were in the bedroom almost cackling about not needing an education, I found that kind of disturbing.
I thought having an education was a good thing....

I think it is very relevant.

If that deposit was paid with drug money then it makes a huge difference.

That sort of people revel in their own stupidity.

I am quite well educated and have a large vocabulary. Whenever I come into contact with chavs they try and tell me I am wrong for "using long words."

They revel in ignorance.

I once asked my own cousin if she read books and she cackled at me like I was mad. I genuinely think that she has never read a book and she takes pride in this.

BB1984 02-07-2015 01:20 AM

I think it has to do with upbringing & whether someone reads books, intrested in the news or uses the internet a lot for more then just social media.

Chloe & Aisleyne, Dann seem like the people who do none of those things.

There must be a reason why Joel & Marc are good at debating.

I think a lot of it is an act with chloe. I think she is more intelligent than she makes out but she is going for the Brian Belo/Jade Goody tactic of appearing thick to appeal to the teenage girl voter.

BB1984 02-07-2015 01:25 AM

Yeah that's a good point. There are a few people in there that have a game plan & can play a role.
They all just want the money & fame at this point, so close to the end.

I tell you what would be the measure of how smart Chloe is.....

If she wins, will she use the £150,000 to pay off the mortgage that she is so proud of?

All spent on a big piss up in Benidorm for friends & family.

qwerty42 02-07-2015 02:47 AM

she lives in Doncaster right? houses are still affordable on an average wage

BB4fan 02-07-2015 04:24 AM

I couldn't really care less what she does. After she leaves BB she'll be a HM I'll hardly remember.

Josy 02-07-2015 05:28 AM

These days for someone her age having her own mortgage and car IS an achievement.

There's no evidence of that tho so people need to stop reaching.

...totally Josy, she was more saying that she owns her own home and just worded it to say that she was proud to have a mortgage, but it is something to be proud of as it's so hard for young people these days...

Getting a mortgage isn't that much of an achievment, keeping up the payments is.
However given the choice between an education or a mortgage, I would live in a hovel if it meant getting an education.

Yep.

There is nothing wrong with being proud of your own personal achievements IMO

I agree with this. I lived with my family through college and university; I believe that education should always come first as it will prepare you for a lot of things in your later life which is what I have learned. Why waste money on a mortgage when you can put it towards a tuition fee?

However, a mortgage is very much a personal achievement and I'd applaud anyone with a mortgage, especially at my age.
