Teaser of S2 which premieres March 30

Wizard. 01-01-2018 06:31 PM

Series 1 was a chore. I’ll pass.

RileyH 01-01-2018 06:32 PM

Season 1 was kind of meh

Smithy 01-01-2018 06:34 PM

S1 was great, it was one of the best book to tv/film adaptation I’ve ever seen :nono: the only negative was that 1-3 had been done in the film so it felt like rewatching the same thing but it was obviously necessary for the show

Smithy 08-04-2018 12:54 PM

Has anyone else watched S2? I got a bit bored in the middle bc of how repetitive it was but the last 3 episodes were great

Ive finished s2, I have mixed feelings because I loved the books and I really want to like this series but its so boring and bland and the cheap cgi is horrendous..

I think the kids are alright actors but the supporting cast are abysmal, like Mr Poe and all the 'characters of the day'

Ill still watch s3 though

Saph 15-04-2018 09:15 AM

my favorite part of s2 was the hospital eps, they were actually quite creepy at times, and the scene with esme and violet in the library was tense

I love Mr Poe.
I mean I've heard that he's nothing like Mr Poe in the books so a lot of people don't like him but I think he's quite humorous. :shame:

And I think the CGI is part of its weird charm. It's a lot like the Jim Carey movie where the backdrops are like paintings and the whole thing is kind of surreal.

I thought it worked best in the final 2 episodes with the circus tents. AHS: Freak Show was shook.

Esme

Saph 15-04-2018 10:05 AM

The thing that bothers me about the CGI is more the fact that they always seem to be in the middle of a desert or something :joker:

Esme is a saving grace of this series

Marsh. 15-04-2018 10:05 AM

I did think Vile Village was quite bland despite the plot developments in the story. Like the whole thing could've been a lot better executed (no pun intended).

I can't get over how much Violet looks like the Violet from the movie though. :o How are they not, at least, related.

The barren and dark land within which they live?

RileyH 15-04-2018 11:11 AM

Esme was always my favourite in the books

It was pretty spot on in terms of what happens in the books, although they escape slightly differently and you don’t see any of the Olaf/Jaques backstory kind of thing

Smithy 05-01-2019 09:42 PM

Ugh The End y’all, only waiting 10 years for these fookin answers!!
