I've had problems with my weight all my life. I have been anorexic and bulimic, but now i'm a lot more relaxed about it. I try to eat a varied diet and always cook everything from scratch. If i fancy something i will have it, but without going over the top. I think fat shaming is wrong. The most important thing is eating healthy, so you don't need to be a stick insect. I'm certainly not.

I'm guessing alcoholics do a bit more damage to their own bodies than someone who gets drunk and falls over at weekends, and has a harder time dealing with it. Same with people who are overweight. I imagine obese people damage their bodies more and have a harder time dealing with it. The bottom line is taking it upon yourself to ridicule and shame someone - anyone - is self-indulgent and harmful.

She has a point but she chose to present it in a sensationalist way which took away from what she was saying.
I don't believe in fat shaming personally, unless it's a medical condition, being fat is a choice and I don't believe that people should be treated special because they have bad dietary habits. |

Just an attention seeker who done this for the viewers which means money for them...

A bit pathetic of her to disable the comments and likes. If she's gonna make a point like this she should be able to stand by her comments and take the criticism. She's just made herself look silly now.

Why is it ok to shame those who drink a lot ( without being addicted) but not those who eat a lot? It's a double standard and over time they are putting as much strain on their bodies. |
We surely can't keep saying the same thing in a different way, we're going around in circles. So, in conclusion, my opinion on the original question is this: I think the video is fat shaming and also insulting. I think the woman who made it is not very nice and her motives questionable. In a nutshell.
One more thing... Nothing I said about alcoholics was aimed at you in any way. You're dealing with it, it's not easy and it's not my business. |
It could well be, satire is not everyones cup of tea, I am dealing with it yes.

Nobody has touched on the amount of 'fat porn' that is on TV lately...
Fat families, supersize V superskinny, secret eaters, a year to save my life and my favourite embarrassing fat bodies. Are any of these 'fat shaming'? |
This was playing in my doctors today..
Is this comedy, this tells fat people they are at risk, need to watch they eat and exercise... what's the difference? |
