Now finished episode 8... Kilgrave is probably the best adaptation / villain I've seen in a comic series. I can't think of a better one outside of the Batman universe but then that's because I've binged on that with the games and probably don't know so much about the others... but the whole mind control/constantly threatening to make everyone kill themselves against Jessica is excellent  Quite a lot of LOL moments as well with him which is a bit disturbing (his quarreling with Jessica in the hostage situation about whether he should just kill himself as he'd be a burden on the taxpayer; making the kiosk guy throw his own coffee over himself; the poker guy putting his head through a post)... but definitely a lot more disturbing moments. The way the scene inside the police department played out after she tries to turn herself in was pretty shocking & terrifying.

I started watching the other day, loving it.

It's pretty much the best thing Marvel's done.
I love that the Netflix shows are gloriously devoid from the tedious tropes that tend to overwhelm the Marvel films. No spending half the running time setting **** up for the next film/series :flutter: No painful self referential characters that point out cliches to cover the fact that the show/film is engaging in rampant cliches :flutter: Self contained stories with limited interaction with other Marvel properties :flutter: NO RELENTLESS 'FUNNY' QUIPS :flutter: |
I finished it, one of the best series I've watched recently!
