If I'm on my own and I can kill it then I will,I can't get them most of the time anyway
Yes they're smaller etc but if it's in my room and I can't sleep because of it

I wish I wasn't scared of them, it would be much easier

Amy Jade 19-09-2015 10:46 PM

I'm not arsed at anyone fuming of me killing it, the thing was HUGE when I got closer I could see its mouth pincers and its hairy legs - I have no regrets, why should I miss sleeping for the weekend because it decided to sneak into my room and sit above my bed?

I don't care, in the bath (or sink) means they can be tortured with scalding water until they turn white then they go down the drain and are never seen again :hee:

Rule in this house is they are free to roam...downstairs.
Once they go upstairs they are fair game, especially if lovely daughter is home.
Rather have spiders than flies, so they do gave a use.

I have a massive fear of spiders but I won't kill them as they keep the moths etc at bay. Plus it's bad luck to kill a spider, means you'll lose money/lose out on money.

What is with the greenpeace for spiders

..my mother in law always says to put conkers in the house and the spiders won't come in but I don't know what the science bit about that is...

...that made me laugh..the funniest thing ever is seeing your big six foot something son jumping on the sofa and squealing like a girl as they say..he's terrified of them, even the smaller ones actually because he'll scream 'massive spider' and it's only the tiniest thing sometimes...I'm really not keen on the bigger ones myself but I've always had to pretend I'm ok with them and get the glass to put them outside etc...the only one thing he's ever said/his entire list of 'must have' in a long term partner...is that they be ok with spiders and removing them from the house...

..did you try it, do you know if it works..?..my son did it once when she said it to him and he said that he didn't see spiders in his room that year but as he forgot about it then and it was only that one time, it may have just been a 'low spider year'...because sometimes there just aren't very many...also he didn't do it again because every morning he woke up in the dark, he kept stepping on conkers and it hurt his feet ..they were everywhere, like in vampire movies with garlic...

I haven't done it in this house so don't know if it really works but my mum used to do it, can always remember seeing a couple of conkers in the corners of the living room, bathroom and kitchen but only in the winter.
