Oh, it was cryptic, now I get it!!

I'm never very good at cryptic :hehe:

The advert is raising awareness for Age UK (charity for lonely elders) with the tagline "show someone they're loved this Christmas" so yeah this is pretty much obvious.

I love it, it's so much better than those damn penguins, what a great message

A little boy excited to give his parents a present on Christmas Day, a cheery little cartoon with adorable characters and a penguin who comes alive in a little boys imagination.

Niamh. 06-11-2015 09:38 PM

Well I thought it was lovely anyway

EspeonBB 06-11-2015 09:44 PM

Yeah not really liking it (although idc for the JL Xmas ads in general)

Ammi 07-11-2015 05:41 AM

...I guess that it had a lot to live up to with the hype etc.../just taking it in it's own right though and not comparing it to the previous ones, I like it....obviously this one is focusing on the elderly but the general focus on those who are alone at Christmas, is a good one and children are great at giving those thoughts and wanting to make some gesture if they can ...

Ammi 07-11-2015 05:43 AM

...but yes, a general.....mind you, he's probably just stepped out from his moon party to the smoking area and isn't alone at all, but just conning those humans...

Glenn. 07-11-2015 08:00 AM

Now that's an advert I'd like to see

I think its very realistic to highlight that some people are lonely at Christmas, It is a bit more punchy than previous ads and make us think of unpalatable truths

Glenn. 07-11-2015 09:11 AM

No one can even breathe on the moon without the proper equipment

Of course it's not realistic, it's a metaphor, as Cherie explained.

Gusto Brunt 07-11-2015 09:19 AM

How many people actually watch TV adverts anyway??

Most of the stuff I watch on the commercial channels, I record first then fast forward all the ads.
