She did mentioned amoeba, which typically lives in warm, stagnant bodies of freshwater...so I would say she knows more than the others!!! They eventually got a laminate telling them to boil the water for set time...she was right and they were wrong.

I have already provided a link to the length of time needed to kill the bacteria that could cause harm. She was talking utter bollocks.

So what's the upshot? Most health organizations, including the Center for Disease Control, recommend that you boil water vigorously for 1 minute up to elevations of 2,000 meters (6,562 feet) and 3 minutes at elevations higher than that. You're guaranteed to be safe from giardia and crypto if you follow those guidelines.

Amoeba are not bacteria.... so that wouldn't be effective... would it :idc:

According to the Wilderness Medical Society…

Water temperatures at 160° F (70° C) kill all pathogens within 30 minutes.
Water temperatures above 185° F (85° C) kill all pathogens within a few minutes.

I think they have been instructed to boil for longer because they have no thermometer to know the temperature of the water, and they aren't able to control the heat to ensue maximum temperature.

Regardless, if they were instructed to do so for 20 min, why do you need to cry fowl about Lady C following the guidelines given to them as a camp by production?? It is just another way to argue for the sake of arguing

They would have to have been given instructions about camp life prior to going in... you have no idea if they did or didn't

What is typical???

I thought she was hilarious on last nights show and on point, and none of the rants in this thread are going to change my mind. She didn't do anything horrendous or vile that I could see.

Other people didn't complete their trials because of their fears, and none of them are being dragged through the mud for it.

She is fabulously entertaining to me, so what

Chris asking for a penalty for not winning in a trial was ludicrous... they design the trials so that they won't win 100% of the time. Good for her for calling him out on it

yes but he was just musing on the walk back to camp and if he thinks that then great but that old witch went for him and took it personally and do you know why?

to deflect from the fact she had not won a meal for her campmate

so she could go back and fume and no one would think she had failed

the fly old besom

Mokka 19-11-2015 06:31 PM

and why did he say it in the first place???

to lay blame on someone else and make them a target so that people would forget what a lazy arse he is around camp

so we have established that they are both playing the game and they are both manipulative... welcome to reality tv :idc:
