They might not have specifically articulated those words but they obviously think it is wrong or unhealthy in some way.

Opposing gay adoption is acceptable (although an incredibly outdated view that I strongly disagree with). Likening it to child abuse is disgusting and offensive, and that is why people have reacted so negatively to Winston's despicable attitude.

Thats their opinion, I strongly disagree with them, but thats their views, what I have the biggest problem with is that he compared it to child abuse, CHILD ABUSE.

Child abuse is a catch-all term. I perhaps wouldn't have chose those words in a public arena. But I stand by my view that a child not having a mother is not an ideal healthy situation.

To deliberately place a child in a motherless family is not the healthiest thing for the child.

I actually think putting a child in an environment where their parental figures have views like these is overwhelmingly more damaging.
