Megan is clearly NOT racist. In fairness, 'ghetto' to begin with isn't necessarily referring to black people. I do admit she meant it in that way, but ghetto is like a sassy behaviour which Tiffany displayed... people were tweeting before Megans rant "Tiff gone all ghetto" etc. I believe that comment was wrong and she should be warned but it by NO means makes her racist.

Reclaiming a word is when you take an offensive slur historically used against you, and to try to take some of the 'pain out of the wound' (i can't think of the phrase here but I hope this makes sense to you) by using it as a term of endearment. It makes it so that word cannot be used in a pejorative way against you, because it would simply be a self-descriptor. The word 'queer' is a good example of this, it's even made its way into the sexuality acronym 'LGBTQ'. The meaning was changed from an insult to gay people to a descriptor of those outside the straight/LGBT descriptors of sexuality.

Also just out of curiosity, are you a minority yourself?
