A little bit... yeah!

He has a point.

People bring up Luther like one show alone is enough to tip the balance. It's not enough. I could spend all day naming UK shows and films with a white lead actor but I'd struggle to think of many shows or films featuring black actors at the forefront aside from stereotypical trash like Top Boy and Kidulthood.

The entertainment industry heavily favours white actors and it always has, to deny that is to deny reality.

Again... the only way you're going to get good roles for black actors is to have black screenwriters.

Idris IS a very gifted actor though, and a seemingly decent and nice person, and he deserves his success, but the idea that any actors are 'held back' from roles simply BECAUSE they are black is ludicrous.

If the part demands a black actor and the actor who is auditioning is good enough - he/she will get the role.

Or do some members think that roles should specifically be given to black actors just BECAUSE they are black? This in itself is discriminatory and racist.

Not to mention the death knell to creative script writers, if they have to take into account that they must have black characters or disabled or anything but what comes out of their own imagination.

writers is the key I agree....the quality of writing has simply disappeared in recent years in the uk and in Hollywood..the golden age is long gone.....lets face it even the pacinos and deniros are making mediocre movies now...
