It's stupid really, half of those options are the same thing but worded differently.

I think the only real valid option other than male, female and trans is gender fluid, the rest scream of people wanting to be special little snowflakes.

27, Option 26 is for people who wish to be identified as a platypus.

The hilarious thing is this still won't be good enough for some deranged social justice warriors on tumblr

I just don't get the purpose of it, for what would you ever use this label you've given yourself? Will there be 25 different changing rooms in gyms etc?

Northern Monkey 18-02-2016 02:16 PM

It is a load of **** and they should'nt be confusing kids at an impressionable age. They've just made up those terms.

Kizzy 18-02-2016 04:35 PM

Genderqueer, is that a thing? I s queer not offensive? :conf:

Will. 18-02-2016 04:37 PM

I'm Bi-Gender.

Firewire 18-02-2016 04:50 PM

I'm all for allowing more than two standard genders because some people genuinely don't feel like they fit either of them, but 25 is a bit too much.

Northern Monkey 18-02-2016 05:08 PM

I'd say 5 is more than enough.
Male
Female
Wannabe male
Wannabe female
Can't make mind up

Firewire 18-02-2016 05:08 PM

Male and female are sexes, not genders

Kizzy 18-02-2016 05:36 PM

I'm a FWK (female with kahoonas) (not literally)

It seems to have been re-adopted by some portions of the LGBT community but god knows... I always took it to be a slur rather than anything else, but I'm sure "LGBTQI" is now being floated around as the new name (I'm not even sure what the I stands for... is it inbetween? Indifferent? Ibexes?)

The whole thing is just tedious, and dangerously undermines the seriousness of actual fights for equality/tolerance. I refuse to believe anyone would actually identify themselves as "young man" as their gender and spend a good, coherent argument telling everyone how that's different to "male".

Kizzy 18-02-2016 06:06 PM

I can see in as far as a 13yr old may not want to identify as a boy, so the alternative is young man, but yes both are male so... :/

Jesus...

If Dezzy thinks it's too much, it's definitely too much.

Yes Jack Monroe is a one off

she was on Ch4HD news the other week saying she was Raped
as a boy and as a girl.

Not so typical complex

I'm sorry as I know that this isn't gonna sound very PC but this is bull****.

I'm with Vicky on personality traits are not a gender, people should be labelled their gender based on their anatomy at that given time, if you have a penis you're a male, if you have boobs and a vagina then you're a female.

Why does everything have to have 50 billion different choices to them when they're just simple? I mean the only other one that makes any sense to be included is the one to do with having both men and women's parts.

jennyjuniper 20-04-2016 02:31 PM

If this list of choices is aimed at young people, then there should only be three. Male. Female and I don't know yet.

Calderyon 20-04-2016 03:02 PM

What is the point of this? Why mess with kids minds?
