Its his release clause in his contract

He was voted the 2nd best goalkeeper in Germany last year and no other goalkeeper under 23 in Europe made more saves then him

Drew. 24-05-2016 07:17 PM

That just means Mainz have a shoddy defence

Denver 24-05-2016 07:19 PM

But also proves he is great

Yay Gundogan. Wooo

Romelu Lukaku confirms he wants to leave Everton

Forget Morata this is the striker for us. We should try our best to get him.

Robert Lewandowski’s agent has revealed that the Bayern Munich striker has held talks with Real Madrid and could be interested in leaving the German champions this summer.

The Poland international, who scored 30 league goals as Bayern claimed their fourth successive Bundesliga title, has been the subject of transfer speculation since failing to agree an extension to his contract in April. That is due to expire in 2019 and now his agent, Cezary Kucharski, has confirmed the Champions League finalists have made contact to discuss a potential move.

“Real Madrid contacted us a few weeks ago, we listened to everything they said. It’s a big and exciting club,” Kucharski told the German news magazine Spiegel. “We have informed FC Bayern that we’ve held talks with Madrid.”

Lewandowski, who is preparing for Poland’s friendly games next week against Holland and Lithuania, added: “Contracts are not a holy relic in football. You can like this attitude or not but it’s the truth. Sometimes you have to think about if it is meaningful to try out a new impulse.”

But with three years remaining on his current deal, any offer to prise Lewandowski away from Bayern will probably have to be in excess of £50m, with reports in Germany suggesting that Real could propose a six-year-contract worth up to €25m (£19m) a year.

Aubameyang on the move as well, rumours with Madrid but also some with United, Arsenal and Chelsea :worry:

I'd prefer him to Morata but he'd also cost a fortune. Probably over 65 million.

ilkay gundogan

Morata scores two for Spain last night. He's been selected as their main striker for the Euros. If he does well then the 45 million being touted will surely go up to about 60 million. Would be a shrewd move to try and get him before the Euros.

Shaun 02-06-2016 07:37 PM

Ball's in Madrid's court though I guess. He's been quoted as saying he'd love to stay at Madrid but I can't see them wanting him first choice... and if they can wait until he ups his own value this summer I'm sure they will.

True. Hope we get him; according to most sources he's our number one target. If we dont get him then I hope Wenger doesn't claim no one is available and tries to get another striker. If we go into the next season with Giroud and Walcott again then I fear for the worst. Talking of, big Olly scored the other day too against Cameroon. Good goal as well.

Well i didn't see this coming, apparently he's very reliable

Strange signing if true not the normal sort of player arsenal normally buy.

GiRTh 03-06-2016 06:25 PM

I'd take Vardy over our current strikers any day

I really can't make my mind up on this. If he carries on his form from last season he could be deadly with Xhaka and Ozil behind him, but my head tells me last season was a one season wonder and his age is a huge downside.

GiRTh 03-06-2016 07:09 PM

Great news. Dont even care that he's 29. All that means is that finally Wenger is starting to think short term. So sick of him buying players at 17 sending them out on loan for season after season and then selling them at 22. Finally we are going for players who are already established.

I see that argument but I encourage the fact we are looking short term. I havent the patience for another Wenger 17 year old with potential project. I havent the patience for another Walcott if I'm being honest. The way he plays would be perfect for us as he's a different kind of player to what we already have. I hope he signs.

I'm with you completely, short term is the answer. This just feels like the easy option.. there are better more proven strikers out there. I love the fact we'd have some real grit in the team with Xhaka, Wilshere and Vardy, but i just worry Vardy won't produce what he did this previous season
