And Pitbull's album is being released either June 24 or July 8 so the summer smash is coming soon

I wouldn't worry yet as she's still signed one part of it and they clearly do care if they're holding a meeting with her (there's a lot more to this than the press are making out). In all honesty though I was really disappointed with how the label went about promoting her and it's for the best. Her album sales reflected how much they put into her, they weren't a good label for her at all

Obviously money does rule the world at the end of the day but like I've said multiple times before: Leona went indie, Island and Def Jam jumped on board to release it. They didn't invest in the making of the album. Glassheart on the other hand, 3 years of recording lots of money was pumped into that project. That would have been a reason for Syco to drop Leona but that was not the case. That's another story anyway.
The fact she's still signed to Def Jam and Universal must mean they're not bothered by her sales, at all. It's because of bad teamwork and Leona not clicking with Island.

I think we were all glad Leona parted with Syco and went on to Island since we thought it would have been a better label to manage her career and bring her back in the spotlights, going by their previous efforts in artists.

However, Leona just didn't click with Island. Island has done and asked many things from Leona that she refused to do. There was obviously not a good teamwork going on.

Flashback to the release of FUMF: Island had good intentions of releasing and backing up Leona to release her album but from start of, I recall saying this last year but it was never believed, they have been messed up the promo budget really bad while they had very limited funds. They spent a crazy amount on an US band to play with Leona while Leona had her own UK band. Island expected Leona to cover up all those costs! We're talking about a huge figure here. There were lots of terrible internal arguments on how the promo budget was spent and wasted. It was Islands fault and Sarahs fault. It went all downhill from there.

There were lots of legal arguments going on internally and even solicitors were involved, Sarah had a huge hand in the mess up and was one of the reasons why she was fired.

All of this mess made it impossible to promote her album further more, hence the one promo performance on the Lottery Show. You can say whatever you want, I Am (album) had no promo.

Eventhough Def Jam did an amazing job in the US to boost her career and get her everywhere; Island wanted Leona to come back and live in the UK because it was expensive to fly her to LA and back for promo. (Once again because of messed up promo budget).

When Island heard about Cats they decided to drop her, but Leona decided to go for Cats (who can blame her? It's an honour and a huge deal) so basically she dropped Island to follow her dream.

They tried putting her against Syco/Simon to boost sales but they failed. They also asked Leona to cut all ties with Syco but Leona refused. This would have meant she had to give up on all the songs she has ever recorded under Syco, including Bleeding Love.

To me it's a good thing she refused, it's Leonas career she should have given up. Lots of amazing music that has meant alot to many people.

Basically Leona and Island didn't click. She's still signed to Def Jam (who have been responsible for her US appearances like DWTS recently)

I'm really happy she stayed true to herself and didn't give up her music from Syco

I'm glad she's concentrating on Cats tbh

Island were an awful label. Gutted she's basically having to start over again but hopefully she'll be better off with another label.
