Yes, the House Divide is a bit meaningless - we haven't got to know any of them well enough to be bothered about their little intrigues.

very contrived indeed, why the hell would Sam be talking about Ryan at all seriously? He's not even an ex just some guy he fell out with, makes zero sense

Surely the housemates get the call that they've become Big Brother housemates about a 4/5 weeks prior to the launch (sometimes even longer), so they hadn't even fallen out when they found out they were housemates unless C5 recruited them last minute or something.

Am I overthinking this? :worry:

What convinced me was Sam saying "His name was Ryan " then like he had an earpiece ,jumped in with his surname, like he had been told he'd not said enough,as we know when hm8s over the years have spoken about family and friends outside they have blank out their names with bird tapes

This is a good point, and it's probably a case for the pov that it's not a set up. It's probable that they wanted all the others to have connections but in the end couldn't make it work, for all the many reasons that people are stating as to why this twist isn't very plausible. Maybe there were a lot of last minute changes.

Something I noticed on launch that might mean nothing, but during Evelyns vt, she was shown to be interviewed in the background that had black balloons (like the others) instead of multi coloured balloons (like the main hm's), which suggests she was initially meant to be an other but there was a last minute change (unless I'm completely off the mark about the balloon thing lol)

Anyway that suggests to me that it's probably not a scripted set up, planned out totally in advance, and there was probably a lot happening and changing in the days leading up to launch to try and make it work best as possible

im just getting a bit confused because i dont know what the 'game' is. we all knew how traditional big brother was: housemates nominate someone with a reason, then the public vote one out. so how does this game work? because if it's a constant meddle each week then i'm not on board. i want a method to this.

we still have no idea how nominations work or if they are even being used. we don't know if we evict housemates or others. we don't how housemates get demoted, or others get promoted. we don't know anything about it. i like the basic idea of this concept but what is the 'game' being played here? 'wreak havoc and paranoia'. ok sure. so they can choose to nominate housemates.. but the housemates are sitting ducks for the entire season? i hope they fleshed it out a little more than this.

i'm giving them some slack for the first week of letting the public choose who they want to be part of the others, and giving us some control, but i expect some semblance of a 'game' by the end of the first eviction twist.

Marco and Georgina had black balloons too, maybe some others, whereas Ryan had coloured ones, so I don't think it's indicative :)

Yeah same for me. I'm on board with the 'new game' and giving it a chance but I'd like to know the overall concept and what the long term plan is. I don't like that the viewers are kept in the dark. It might be a case that they don't fully know themselves yet though. They might have a number of plans and are picking and choosing what they're doing depending on how certain 'twists' work out.

It's the interviews I find weird. They get Jason and Sam to talk about two people in their lives.

The very same people who are now in the BB house.

It's so obviously a fix.

zakman440 10-06-2016 12:55 PM

I know most of you don't want to hear it, but I think we all know what they could do to make it a little more honest...

Spoiler:

Live Feed :sorry:

Of course it's all set up,It'd be virtually impossible to do it otherwise. This show's been getting more soap opera every year since C5 took over.I don't watch it actually thinking it's real it's just abit of fun these days to be taken with a large pinch of salt.

Oaker 10-06-2016 12:56 PM

As long as it's entertaining I don't care if it's fixed/scripted/whatever

erinp5 10-06-2016 01:01 PM

Every year we get the HMs speculating about another house , questioning if the public are nominating but this lot... not a word! Live feed axed to be replaced by social media and they axe live updates via twitter from the house. We get little to no info now, we have no clue what they do in the house.
