Is that what I said though? I was talking about rash judgements in general

That's not very relevant then as the topic is on slag naming and not general presumptions

Well the topic is about both really.

That's fair enough, but would you have a positive impression by someone dressing with their cleaveage hanging out on your first impressions of her? Because to me my first impressions of her was that she looked desperate for attention.

Hughie's comments are not what I would ever think from what someone's wearing, but it's obviously first impressions that he obviously can have on people.

I don't really form an impression of what people wear, I may think something along the lines of 'well I wouldn't wear it or I'm not fond of that colour or even damn that dress is ugly as sin' but I don't tend to judge the person wearing it especially not as a tramp or a slag

Tbf I think the general public would be more along your opinion than mine or Hughie's.:joker:

It's just that Hughie didn't call her a slag in a "omg I really ****ing hate her sort of way" he probably presumed that he'd never meet her either as she looked likely to be the first out on Launch Night.

But they're always gonna be lumped together as people are gonna discuss is it right to make pre-judgements on people? And then you've got the is it right for him to call her a slag?

My answers are.

Former - Yes
Latter - No

Babayaro. 22-06-2016 02:41 PM

Also, on launch night I said that Hughie seemed like a ****

Does that make me a bad person? No.

No it doesn't.

And tbf I called him Brian Dowling 2.0 on Launch Night.:joker:

armand.kay 22-06-2016 02:43 PM

Don't even see the big deal with calling someone slaggy.. especially when you're basing that opinion on their appearance on a show that bragged about being more outrageous than Georgie shore.. Like I'm not saying he was right to say what he did but ****ing hell people have blown it out of proportion.

Also a tad hypocritical when the people who are so outraged at him for saying it are the same people who supported people like charley who called channel a 'slut' on a number of occasions.. :hee:

Hughie's more of a Science/Charley Uchea type of Housemate than a Makosi/Grace/Bea type.

Tbf she did call Charley a "slut" and a "****" and a "bitch" so Chanelle was no saint herself.

I'm not slating her for it lol I loved charley. I'm just pointing out that people seem to be so outraged about the use of words like this now but it didn't seem to be a problem before.

Babayaro. 22-06-2016 02:47 PM

Yeah, it's not even that big a deal tbh. No one said anything about it before Natalie pointed it out. Although, did we even see Hughie say it? I can't remember

If that's in reference to me then just because I loved Charley doesn't mean she didn't say stuff I disagreed with and still do. You'be been preaching for about an hour about how he's still hilarious despite him saying things you disagree with but I can't do the same to Charley?

I'm just making a point of how Hughie is branded as a horrible person for calling Lateysha slaggy when the same wasn't done in the past for previous housemates and I'm not saying you can't do the same with Charley if you look at most my posts you'll see that I'm a huge Charley fan.

So is slut shaming only unacceptable in certain situations? Because I definitely recall you doing it with Alicia last year. I'm not having a go or using it against you, just making a point that making unpleasant comments about people on reality shows is something more of us are guilty of than would care to admit.

I am myself, I'll hold my hands up to it. Not specifically using those words but I've formed negative opinions on people on BB / CBB like Charlotte Crosby for her boasts about her Geordie Shore lifestyle. If any of us is going to criticise somebody for making a judgement about somebody because of what they've seen on a reality show then we should first make sure we've never done that ourselves.

I don't think what Hughie said was right, I've never justified or defended it. But I also don't think it makes him a terrible, evil human. He's flawed for sure and said unfair things, but the same goes for most of us on here.

(By the way, I don't usually like to bring up what FMs have said in the past themselves but unfair and inappropriate comments and assumptions have been made about Hughie supporters lately about us justifying slut shaming and holding him to different standards so I feel it necessary to properly explain just why I'm not being so quick to brand him as the Antichrist just yet and why I feel it's, frankly, ridiculous for people to form a judgement on people for still liking him when he's not said anything that's too far removed from things said on here all the time anyway).

What about good old rebeckah who branded sweet Pamela as a slag moments after meeting?

:clap1: I was going to bring up when Amy Jade said Natasha looked like a tramp, and i'm pretty sure during the last BB that Helen appeared on, Amy called her a *****. But I wouldn't want to burst that "holier than thou" bubble Amy is trying to portray :worry: I'm sorry AJ but you're just as judgemental as the rest of us
