I think you are very rude. A decent person would ask to use someones gif, no matter who it was. If I put a bit of effort into something it would be nice for someone to say "Hey, I'm gonna use that." or whatever, common decency. Though at the same time, if someone did steal my gif or whatever I don't think I'd be upset, but it's nice to be nice.
