They were shocked at Jason's reason because he hadn't said anything about it in the past. Same for Lateysha.

This is getting completely embarrasing for you. Yes we followed the link and yes we understand that to be derogatory you need to show a disrespectful attitude. But disrespectful does not mean derogatory and derogatory does not mean disrespectful. Derogatory also does not mean showing or attitude.. Incase thats how you think dictionaries work.. Ryan was disrespectful in his words, not derogatory. They are not synonyms. You, Kazzane and Jason not understanding this is the problem. Tldr/too stubborn to admit im wrong: All derogatory things are disrepectful Not all disrespectful things are derogatory Spittin on a grave is disrepectful and not derogatory. Jasons example of Ryans "derogatory comments" were disrespectful and not derogatory Come on now. This is basic stuff, i shouldnt have to be repeating it in different ways. |
Jasons vote for Ryan was completely valid.. Jason didnt like thhe crude and disrespectful ways he spoke about others. But his reason "Ryan was being derogatory" was invalid. The example Jason gave had nothing derogatory about it.. Jason just had a try with a long word and failed. And thats why the house was confused. If Jason had said "sometimes, Ryan is disrespectful" i am certain nobody would kick a fuss because its very easy to remember plenty of times where this was true.
Derogatory is a very direct insult about a specific type of act which nobody has seen Ryan do in the house. Although his justification was fair, his words were not. I think Jason learnt his lesson of dont use big words unless he understand them, hope a few others take this lesson around wih them too. |
